Title: USB-C to USB-A adapter, USB 3.1 gen 2 compliant
Post by: scottws on Sunday, December 03, 2017, 01:53:53 PM
I'm looking for a quality single piece adapter that converts male USB-C to male USB-A (meaning it should have female USB-C and male USB-A) and is USB 3.1 gen 2 compliant. Does anyone know of a good one? I can't find one on Amazon

I'm not looking for any length of cable with USB-C on one end and USB-A on the other, whether a full 3' or 6' cable or a short adapter that uses any length of cable.

I want to be able to just carry a single cable with USB-C on both ends and a very small adapter for the (many) situations where only USB-A ports are available.

Something like this? (https://www.amazon.com/Lemeng-USB3-0-Connector-Converter-Adapter/dp/B01ABTHI7C/)
Or this? (https://www.amazon.com/Acessorz-Hi-speed-Connector-Converter-Interface/dp/B075LHXVNV/)

I just searched Amazon for "usb c female" and converters were at the top.

My new laptop actually has a Thunderbolt 3 port and came w/ a USB-C to USB-A wire.
I don't have anything here that plugs into the USB-A side.

So, ummm...what the heck plugs in the USB-A side? A Thunderbolt hub or something?

I suspect that's just so you can use a USB device with a standard cable through that port (which should support USB 3 as well as Thunderbolt).
