Dexter
Eastbound & Down
The Mentalist
How I Met Your Mother
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Outsourced
South Park
Family Guy
Ugly Americans
Modern Family
The Colbert Report
The Daily Show
NCIS

I follow them as they come out but I'm not religiously bound to the schedule. I just let the RSS automatically feed my uTorrent.

Basically the shows I watch:

Castle
Big Bang Theory
How I Met Your Mother
Mike and Molly (its new so they are still pretty witty. Wonder when they will run out of fat jokes, though)

I also try catch The Simpsons (new seasons have really improved) and Family Guy. Though FG is starting to wear thin. I watch it and laugh but its turned into a total "shock jock" type of thing.

I've been watching:

Dexter
Fringe
Big Bang Theory
The Walking Dead (premiered last night)
Criminal Minds
The Event
Raising Hope

The Event and Raising Hope are the two I'm not 100% I'll keep watching. So far The Event is hitting me like Lost did: It's okay, and I'm watching more to see if it gets better and to see how they explain things, and less because I genuinely enjoy it. Raising Hope is funny in the same way My Name Is Earl was, but it too has a lot of cheese and could get old.

All I really watch with any regularity is The Office and 30 Rock.  Other than that I catch random crap like MythBusters and Modern Marvels.

I've watched NewsRadio maybe 5 times this year.  I don't know why, but that show is like comfort food for me.  I also picked up the full-on Seinfeld box, which is awesome.  All 9 seasons in a really nice slipcased thing with pullouts, and a big coffee table book.  My place has been a little less lonely with a decent show to watch in mass quantities.

Oh man I want to pick up that Seinfeld box but I don't watch it as much as I used to, I should. But I don't watch any shows really, last one I got into was Burn Notice and it was only the first season I watched, before that was The Wire. But here's some stuff I want to check out:

More Burn Notice
Dexter
Venture Bros.
Castle
Deadwood

The only reason I tried to watch Burn Notice was because of Ryan Scott's show. I watched the entire season, and aside from Bruce Campbell, the show was pretty average.

I've been watching:

1. Band of Brother on blu-ray, with my little bro. The sound is reference quality, and the tin case set is quite awesome. I recommend this for anyone with a PS3 and a home theater.

2. True Blood, all three seasons. HBO makes some good shows, and this is pretty OK, though can be quite uneven at times. A bit too raunchy as well.

3. The Wire random episodes from time to time.

4. Robot Chicken I've watched a season and a half and it is uneven, but mostly lame. Plus, the show is aimed at geeks, yet Seth Green obviously tries to get as much pointless crap involving celebs as possible. It is one thing to mock them, and another to have some stupid action adventure starring members of boy bands, voicing themselves. Obviously someone is craving attention here. Any cred. Seth builds up with the geek stuff, he quickly loses with his celeb. shit. A skit about one member of N'Sync shooting some mafia members and being a hero isn't a parody, and neither is it amusing. Unfortunately, RC has a few of these per episode.

5. Bones. This show I downloaded because I had nothing to watch. The first few seasons were OK, but then the show turned into this comedy thing. It is actually quite funny. I like it and would recommend it as something to watch casually.

6. Supernatural. Again, got this because I had nothing to watch and the reviews were good. Think Hardy Boys hunting supernatural creatures. The first season started poorly. I was actually playing a windowed game as I watched. The show gets better though.

7. Vampire Diaries. Something else I watched because I had nothing and TV.com had it on its list and the reviews were good. The show isn't as bad as I expected. If you can get past the first few episodes, I do recommend it, because the show can be quite good. No, it isn't as bad as the name suggests. Watch it if if you have nothing to view,.

This is what I've watched recently.

Other stuff I watch:

30 Rock
The Office
Desperate Housewives
Dexter
South Park
Family Guy
Frasier
Lost (yet to see the final season)
BSG (yet to see the final season)

Between Sandy's insistence and Teri Hatcher housecleaning in lingerie, I got pulled into Desperate Housewives, a show I had vowed never to watch.  I watch so little commercial TV on my own, almost none really.  With Sandy, I have to endure it, in particular the early morning shows at NBC & local affiliate.

I also just finished watching the original Kung Fu series with David Carradine on Netflix which was pretty good.

Binge-watched the last few days numerous episodes of The Girlfriend Experience TV series on Starz, since Starz uploaded the entire First Season at once On Demand (on Sunday).
Finished the season up today.

Easy to binge-watch, given that each episode's in the 20-30 minute ballpark. Before you know, episode's done.

This show's something else.

The lighting, shooting of the locations, the acting - all is really good here. That's not even getting into the layers, twists, turns, and whatnot level of intrigue the show keeps going b/c it often leaves you to figure out thing - where you might have wondered what might've happened when it decides to out-of-nowhere drop plot-lines, pick-up plot-lines, maybe actually decide to fill in some blanks in the story/stories, and other things of the sort.

Heh, seeing my old post. I gave up on Big Bang Theory and Mike & Molly pretty quick. Also phased out of Family Guy.

Still watching Castle, though! This season has been kind of...eh, ok. I'm not big on the main "twist" this season because it moved the series away from what it was. But they did add some new characters and side stuff that has been pretty good, and now that the twist seems to be resolving a bit it's going back to the Castle I enjoy most.

More recently I've picked up watching Bobs Burgers, Gotham, and Brooklyn 99. I remember seeing the promos for Brooklyn 99 before it started airing and thought it looked real stupid. Then one night last year I was too lazy to change the channel and it turns out that show really makes me laugh. Been watching ever since.

Update from my original list:
Dexter - Watched until the end. It got weaker as it went on, and the ending sucked.
Fringe - Was hooked through the second to last season, which wrapped everything up nicely. Then they got another season, which was too detached and to this day haven't watched past the second episode.
Big Bang Theory - Still watching, though it's a bit more boring these days, and Sheldon's existence as a character makes the show worse. He's not funny to me at all.
The Walking Dead - Still watching, still like it.
Criminal Minds - Still watching, mostly out of habit.
The Event - Progressed terribly and ended by farting out multiple seasons worth of plot in the last episode. If they hadn't held all the cool stuff back, maybe the show would have succeeded.
Raising Hope - Got more boring as it went on, and finally ended. If it had continued I probably wouldn't have kept watching.

And what I'm currently watching (not including stuff that's between seasons):
Banshee - loving it
Better Call Saul - liking it
Fear the Walking Dead - liking it so far
Game of Thrones (new season in a week and a half) - loving it
iZombie - My guilty pleasure. It's so dumb, but so watchable.
Star Wars Rebels - Only mildly entertaining. I'm mostly watching because it's canon.
The Big Bang Theory - Still watching, it has its moments.

I'm also thinking of checking out Vikings and Penny Dreadful, and watching Spartacus (which has ended but people tell me it's good).

I just finished the second season of Bloodline. It's Breaking Bad-esque in that it's very slow paced, shows characters slowly getting in over their heads through seemingly small actions and has amazing acting. Big fan.

I had watched the first season of Person of Interest and a few episodes into the second.  I got turned off because of some plot elements, so I stopped watching.  Cut ahead a few years, to just a couple weeks ago, when I watched the final episode of the show.  That was really intriguing, so I tracked down seasons 2-5, and I'm going through that.  The overarching storyline is what really makes the show.  The mundane single-episode crime dramas, much less so.  But it's hard not to miss important major-arc elements if I try to skip too much ahead.  They can happen at any moment during each show's run time.  So I'm pretty much just watching them whole at this point.  It's a good time to do it.  Good movies are so scarce right now, and there's no current TV show that has my attention.  Game of Thrones lost me at "Red Wedding".

since Castle ended and other shows are off for the summer I ended up watching Houdini & Doyle which I rather enjoyed. Harry Houdini and Arthur Conan Doyle solving supernatural crimes with a female police inspector in old timey London.

Clearly historically accurate.

Hmm.  Really?  I had low expectations.  Time to check it out, then.  TV shows in general have been disappointing me lately.  They have interminable stories, which either end with a fizzle if the series gets canceled, or the dangling-carrot resolution payoff keeps getting yanked further away if the series is popular.  Breaking Bad was a welcome exception.  I'm watching through Season 4 of Person of Interest, slowly.  I watched the final episode (Season 5), and got me re-interested in watching through the whole series from where I left off.

Well, no reason to really jump in.  It could very well be a carrot dangling act or a big fizzle, but I'm enjoying it so far.   I can update you at the end of the season if you want.

Anyone else notice that the "hosts" are made just like the synths in Fallout 4?  Homage, or rip-off? I've watched both seasons of Bloodline.  I liked the first more than the second, but the latter is still excellent.  It's probably my penultimate TV show I watched in 2016, with Game of Thrones being my favorite.  I truly can't say enough good things about it.

If anyone tells me they are in a show hole, Bloodline is always my recommendation.  Upon hearing the title, many people think of vampires a la True Blood.  It has nothing to do with vampires.  It's about a current day family that lives in the Florida Keys and their issues.

Too bad that it's the first TV show on Netflix that has received the axe.  The upcoming third season will be its last.

Anyone been watching Westworld TV series on HBO?

It's been great, to say the least.

I've been trying to get into this one, but haven't been able to so far.  So far, it's just enough to get me to watch the each following episode to see if it gets better but that goodwill is running out fast.  Part of it is that I really don't like Jeffrey Wright.  I don't know how he keeps getting gigs.  I mean his acting isn't horribly atrocious, it's just that all of his characters seem to have the same personality and are extremely wooden.

Westworld has so far been interesting but not all that exciting. Something about it keeps me interested enough that I always want to watch when there's a new episode, but still don't know how much I like it. I think a lot of it is that I'm really, really not into the whole western setting, and generally don't watch westerns at all. It's everything else about the show that I find interesting. I imagine I might like it more if it was a sci-fi setting or something, but then you'd miss out on the stark contrast between the real world and the park.

Episode 7 was pretty good though.

Westworld Episode 7

*SPOILERS* (We don't have spoiler tags anymore)

Yea it was pretty cool, though I was waiting on when the show would reveal some of the employees to be hosts. Now it's just a constant guess of who else could be one. The only narrative of the show that bothers me a little is Maeve's (the prostitute) part, or honestly, how she manages to get as far as she does since the techs that are hiding her secret are stupid beyond belief. Maybe I missed something, but I don't understand why they fear her threats at all when they can easily deactivate her nearly anytime they wanted. I like her story arch in the sense that she is trying to escape but it's sloppily done.

Incidentally, what is the classical piece played on harp at the beginning of the episode?  I know it.  I know its name.  I can't drag it out of my head.  It's not Clair de Lune, though it evokes similar feelings. Damn it, I hate getting old.

Edit:  Rêverie, Claude Debussy.  Thank you, IMDB.  General searches were getting me nowhere.  Figures it was Debussy's piece.  Definitely his emotive style.

And it's perfect for that scene.  Reverie.

Right, I suppose I get that. I guess specifically the scene that comes to mind is when the techs show her what she really is, but then she demands they change her aptitude setting without any real consequence behind it, they just obey her anyway when they could have easily ended it there.

I understand about plot devices being good or bad.  They had to get the story to this point.  The device used is not bad, I don't think.  It's a challenge, because any path here stretches credibility (as does the entire premise--which we're willing accept).

I wass super excited about the music in this show after the first episode, with Black Hole Sun and Paint It Black. The piano/orchestral renditions of rock songs was really interesting to me. Unfortunately, I don't think I've been familiar with a single song that's gotten this treatment in any other episode.

I found this random list in a search once, and it seems to be updated within a day or two of each episode airing: http://www.lyricsoundtrack.com/tv-shows/westworld-soundtrack-music-songs

Great link, man.  Thanks for that.  After Ain't No Grave (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0MIFHLIzZY) in the first episode, I thought we'd be treated to a succession of unusually compelling offbeat tracks during the end credits, as in Boardwalk Empire.  But that hasn't been repeated since.  I wish they would get back to that.

5 seasons, the last one is more of a bookend where its a few episodes shorter but more or less closes out the series. I had wondered where Steve Buscemi had gone all this time and now that I've watched this, I can't see him topping his role in this. Most of the series, up to season 4 is on Amazon prime if you have that.

So was The Wire.

Very highly recommend those shows.

EDIT:
Dude all you got left is the finale, just finish it.

THIS. So THIS.
I loved Westworld. Can't wait for next season.

Anyone been catching American Gods (TV series) on Starz?

Really out there + bizarre.
The acting and cast are really good.

I watched 4 episodes of Twin Peaks: The Return (AKA Twin Peaks: Season 3) on Showtime.

WAY out there.
Of course, Lynch's stuff always is, to say the least.

Granted, I probably do still need to watch the first 2 seasons + the movie.

Watched the first 5 episodes. I still can't decide if I like it but I'm gonna keep up to see where the story goes.

I will say though it has far too many gratuitous scenes of sex and violence (including full frontal nudity).

There is less than zero reason to watch the new season of Twin Peaks if you've never seen the originals. Seriously, it's a complete waste of your time. Go back and watch the others.

Been looking for a new show to watch but everything Ive tried I havent been able to get past the first episode. Then I tried House of Cards the other night, didn't think I could get into it because of the subject matter but I heard good things. I'm now 6 episodes in and I don't want to stop.

Just watched the first episode of Castlevania on Netflix.

So far so good!

WARNING:
It's hyper-violent.

Sharp Objects.

Just started on HBO last week. With so many (incomplete) pieces here thrown at us, I really want to see where this goes. Amy Adams, so far, is great...as the drunken reporter with lots of issues who is trying to find out about missing girls and murders. Really having a lot of True Detective: Season 1 vibes here so far, with the setting, premise, & whatnot.

Really looking forward to Episode 2 tonight.

I'm waiting for a few more episodes before I start watching it.  Read good things about it, and I love Amy.

You may want to watch Big Little Lies, if you haven't already.  One season, all it was ever meant to be, though with its success, it looks like a second season may be in the works.

Stuff I'm watching now:

Westworld: I continue to be very bored of this show. A lot of people I know seem to like it and it obviously has a high production value, but I just don't like it much. I'm not caught up, but I have watched several episodes into season 2. I don't know why I still bother. Showhole, I guess?

Sharp Objects: I loved other HBO miniseries like Big Little Lies and The Night Of, so I'm giving this one a shot as well. There isn't much to see in the first episode. Mainly just setting up some characters and the small, very tight-knit town setting. Very, very slowly paced. Amy Adams is great.

Breaking Bad: Honestly, I've never seen even one second of an episode before this past weekend. I'm now finished with episodes 1 and 2 of the first season. So far so good! This is going to be a long row to hoe.

Other stuff I saw recently:

Abstentia: This one starts out with the fact that an FBI agent (Stana Katic of Castle fame) has been missing and presumed dead for six years. Her widower (?) husband, also an FBI agent and raising their only child, has eventually moved on and remarried. Suddenly, he gets a call and someone, presumably her abductor, reveals she's still alive and she's rescued. She has many psychological issues related to her abduction. Her kid either doesn't know her or barely does and mostly ignores her. Her husband feels like he's betraying both his current and former wives whenever he's with the other one. I thought episode 2 was quite stupid and it didn't hook me at all. I'm probably done with this one.

Bosch: I have seen this in my Amazon Prime Video feed for awhile but never really heard anything about it until someone mentioned it being good a couple of months ago. It's about LAPD homicide detective, Harry Bosch, and each season is about solving a particular crime. Apparently it's similar in some ways to The Wire, though I haven't seen that so I can't confirm. It's based on a series of books by Michael Connelly. My wife and I were hooked immediately and watched all four seasons in just a few weeks. The writing and direction can be a little off at times, but the acting is generally very good and the story is fantastic. Can't wait for season 5!

Various crime documentaries (Making a Murderer, The Staircase, Evil Genius): I love this stuff! They are about real past crimes and their trials where, even today, there is no clear idea of what happened with any certainty. They are really easy to get into and the producers do a great job with the pacing and telling of the story. However, I'm very cognizant that the producers tend to inject their biases into them that can definitely influence your opinion on what happened. I tend to read about them after watching to get more information and other sides of the story. For example, MaM leaves out a bunch of important details that would probably change the viewers opinion. For The Staircase...
(click to show/hide)

Narcos: What a great show! It's a somewhat fictionalized story of the Columbian Medellin and Cali cartels, and the U.S. D.E.A.'s and the Columbia government's efforts against them.  Seasons 1 and 2 focus on the Medellin cartel (almost exclusively Pablo Escobar) while season 3 focuses on the Cali cartel. It loses a little steam in the third season with the loss of one of the principal actors playing one of the DEA agents in seasons 1 and 2 and the switch in focus from the infamous Pablo Escobar to the lesser known Cali cartel and its principals. It's mostly in Spanish with subtitles.

Dark: This subtitled German show is not like anything I have ever seen. I can't really say anything without ruining various stuff, but it has a very... *ahem*... dark theme, the acting is fantastic, and the story is great. It can be a bit hard to follow.

Homeland: I never watched the first several seasons of this, and still haven't, but the last couple of seasons have been absolutely fantastic. It definitely injects aspects of the current political climate into various details in the show, but without making it anti-Trump or anything like that.

BLL was really good, to say the least.
And the shock-ending to Season 1 was something else to behold, as well.

Thanks for that.  After 3 episodes, I'm fairly hooked too.

Edit:  And then E04 happened.  Telegraphed stupidity from a half-hour ahead.  Damn.  Let's see if it picks itself back up through the rest of the season.

I've now watched the first three episodes of Sharp Objects. After a slow E1 and E2, I went in to E3 saying that this is the make or break episode. It started off fairly boring, but towards the end started raising some interesting new issues. I wouldn't say I'm hooked and in for the long haul, but it's kept my interest enough to tune in for at least another episode.

They dragged the intolerable-mother thing way too long for my taste.  Jesus.  I started to click ahead on the video timeline after a few episodes whenever she was given free reign over the plot.  And we know where that went.  Even so, I think I would have edited at least one whole episode out, cut Adora's time in half.  I guess there must be many people who live for portrayals of that kind of domestic hell.

Watched Unorthodox on Netflix. Religious Studies student and all, sort of obligated. One episode left, but it's been a really interesting show thus far, can see why it's gotten so much buzz. Rarely have time to watch TV anymore these days, though.

Season 2 was nowhere near as good. Good enough to keep me watching, but I really missed all the actors from the first season. I don't know what it is, but I don't like Anthony Mackie all that much.

And what is up with the relative lack of nudity in comparison to season 1? S1 was full of all kinds of nudity, including full frontal. S2 is practically chaste.

I'm watching The Witcher now. I don't love it because I'm typically not much into magical fantasy settings, but it has good production values and the acting is also pretty great.

Season 3 of Dark is out on Netflix today, so it's a good time to get into it.  Apparently the last season, this show has been a favorite of mine for the last few years for binge watching.  I'm not even going to try to sum it up but it's great and being able to go through the whole story at once is probably the best way to do it.

I tried to watch Dark season 2 but had so much trouble following who was who and what was going on at the end of S1 that I was completely lost after returning to the show after the hiatus between seasons. I think I only ended up watching the first episode.

I forgot to mention that someone convinced me to watch Schitt's Creek. It's been quite awhile since I found a sitcom I enjoyed, but I really love this one. I highly recommend it. Seasons 1 - 5 are on Netflix, while Season 6 is on Hulu + Live TV (with interstitial ads 🤮).

Yeah, this is a real problem. I found a chart for season 2 that I used while watching to remind me who's who and the relationships.  I found another for the start of season 3 that doesn't have any spoilers (past season 2) that I've used for the first two (confusing as fuck) episodes.  It's still difficult

Ms. Marvel = Fantastic to see representation as a Pakistani Canadian viewer.
Obi Wan = Wasn't bad. Elevates the prequels a bit. Nice to see Hayden again.
The Boys S3 = Love it so far.
Stranger Things S4 = Another great season so far. The imagery has been more horrific than before.

The Old Man (on FX) - This has been really good, so far. Definitely worth watching.
Stranger Things: Season 4 (NetFlix) - Best Season so far since the 1st Season. Still got the big 2 hr.+ S4 Finale to watch though.
Animal Kingdom: Season 6 (TNT) - Good & worth watching, but not great.

Season 4 was also quite good.
