Title: Does anyone have any of these anymore?
Post by: Quemaqua on Friday, October 09, 2015, 01:33:17 AM
They vanished from the site at some point due to space limitations (I know ... in 2015, we have space constraints when all we host is a forum), and I seem to have lost my backups. I don't need them for anything, just thought it would be fun to give them a listen again after all this time.

Bummer. I guess they're lost to time. I was sure I had backups, but I've looked everywhere. I think some of my audio backups went missing at some point during hard drive transfers. There's still a chance they're on my failing drive. I can't check it until reboot since the thing is so borked it won't power on fast enough for the computer to find it from a cold boot. But the odds of them being there are slim ... most of what I wanted from that drive I backed up elsewhere already.

I found OverwrittenRadioE004.mp3 (~21 MB) on an old download folder.  About 90 minutes in length.  My date on the file is 9/25/07.  "Holy crap, I think I figured out how to jump in Super Mario War [World?--sounds like "War" anyway] on the DS . . ."  Let me see how I can upload this and get you a link to it.  Probably through OneDrive.

Edit:  Here is the link. (https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=43861F7087AE655E!971&authkey=!AB16BiUkWd8hNWI&ithint=folder%2cmp3)  Let me know if it it worked for you.  There has been some wonkiness with Onedrive lately.  It seems they're expiring all links now, even ones I want to be permanent.

I figured someone had to have all of them.  Nice.

Can you upload them somewhere, Que?  I wouldn't mind listening since I never did the first time around.

Heh, they weren't much to write home about, but I'll see what I can do.

"Holy crap, I think I figured out how to jump in Super Mario War [World?--sounds like "War" anyway] on the DS . . ."
It was actually most likely War. There is a homebrew/freeware game called Super Mario War. Single screen local multiplayer game where everyone plays Mario and you try to jump on each others heads. If I remember right it got ported to DS and I was talking about my flashcart on one of the podcasts, and I had trouble making it work right. Or maybe it was bugged, haha.

Ha!  I listed to that several times, and it definitely sounded like "war".  Now I know why.

Followed by the soundtrack to a garden gnome dancing, which was actually Tetris theme.

So I guess these happened during my absence. So cool to finally hear voices to your online identities!

Sorry that I've been slacking. I couldn't upload these because my stupid Wordpress.com website refuses to let me upload audio files without paying a hundred dollars a year for a space upgrade. Which is, make no mistake, bullshit. I suppose I should just make a profile at some podcasting site and upload them even though we aren't doing them anymore. I suppose we could actually do them again, too. Might be fun, even though it was all way too much work.

Anyway, for now you can grab these off my website as JPG files. Just save as, rename to MP3, and play away to your heart's content:

I tested with the first one, everything should work just fine.
