Why did the Echo have such a bad rep?

Well, I guess it would make a good Grandma car. It looks stupid, though the more recent hatchback version is an improvement. Overall it's just a weeny car. I'd rather spend the money on a Matrix, Prius, or Yaris.

Yea it came down to a Yaris (called Vitz in Japan and much of Asia) for me. I was about to get one, until my cousin put his car up.
