Well I can't say that I've been going as often either. But there are times (midnight EST, give or take an hour) when it's busier.

My problem is that my sleeping hours are back close to normal, and I want to keep them that way.  If I get on IRC, I can't do it for a short while.  I always end up spending hours, and it doesn't really get off the ground until after midnight EST.

I've wanted to get on IRC lately but my computer died and I'm using an iPod touch for internet. Which is terribly inadequate as a primary browser.

So I may not be on IRC for a while due to PC problems already mentioned in help forum (on PS3 now).  Just FYI since I'm more or less always there under normal circumstances.

That's because you can't just pop on for a couple minutes.  Folks just lurk and say stuff throughout the day, occasionally meeting up and chatting when the timing is right.  It's not so much an exact science, especially when I'm not there and Idol's off on a job (like right now).

So for some reason I can't connect to IRC. This happened the other night as well. I can only connect at certain times now. Half of the time I get the message that my connection is refused when I click on quakenet (or any other channel). Odd.

I meant to say network, not channel. I can't even log onto Quakenet. It has nothing to do with #overwritten.

It just started doing this recently. I tried to log on a few nights ago during an inebriated stupor and it wouldn't let me, but I shrugged it off because I was drunk. But it turns out something is funky.

The shitty thing is, it will be fine tomorrow. Then it will fuck up again. Then it will be fine. That's the great thing about my internet connection.

Also, I'm a little irked that you're only 75% sure I wasn't banned.

Could you have maybe screwed up some setting in your inebriated state?  I don't know why Quakenet itself would refuse you, but I know jack shit about networking and the internet.  I always picture it as a bunch of witch doctors chanting around a bonfire in the heart of some unknown jungle, occasionally throwing a motherboard onto the conflagration to appease the gods of silicon.

No, it has nothing to do with alcohol. It's something funky. And it only happens sometimes. When it does, it just doesn't affect IRC. When I try to access my router, it only half loads. It's actually happening now, and I took a screenshot -

I just reformatted and I have to use Paint so I'm linking.

Any ideas? I'm assuming that it's a problem deriving from my ISP and has nothing to do with me.

If it's any consolation, there's nobody on right now but me.  Sy disappeared for the holidays as usual, idol went off for the holidays to some other state and hasn't been on in a few days, and... uh, nobody else has shown up for a day or two.

But seriously, I love the fact that everyone here at the apartment left for the weekend. Just got back here a few hours ago (working tomorrow) and hardly anyone is here. It's bliss. No obscene bass blasting through my walls, no drunk assholes and the internet is super fast. Now if I could only find a way to make them stay away permanently...
