Just picked this up today and I'm really enjoying it. Its exactly what I expected, in a good way. The camera pissed me off at first - why not rotate to the characters' perspective? But I understand the underlying reason and it works for the most part.

20 stars after a few hours. I have a bad habit of destroying everything and exploring everywhere in platformers before I finish the level. Any sane observer would beat me senseless out of frustration.

Parts of levels are locked until you get certain comets into the world.  There will be time to explore and stuff.

I'm ten years late but holy shit this game is amazing.  Mario 64 was probably one of my favorite gaming experiences and I have no idea why I never really gave this a solid chance before now but I can't put it down.

I literally bought another used Wii just for this game because I missed it.

It is totally video game candy.  I snagged another copy of 2 but I haven't picked up the original Galaxy again.  I had sold that stuff off then Willa took an interest in Mario games.  So here we are again.

I'm getting a couple of stars every few days now and it's probably enough to keep enjoying without really burning out on it.  Is Galaxy 2 just as good?
