D may be right, it might be both. The police tape doesnt really have anything to do with Zork, and I don't know why they would hype up the release of a text adventure series. I doubt there are too many people just aching to spend $5 to play it, you know?

Haha yep, especially when most of us likely have it running on DOSBox anyway. Zork Nemesis on the other hand.. Hmm..

I'm hoping they'll bring complete packs of both games' series.

I'd like to see Return to Zork,  Zork: Nemesis, and Zork: Grand Inquisitor retooled and sold on GoG.  I can't get any of them to work reliably.  I'd be happy to repurchase all of them.

You know, one bad thing about grabbing these old games is the music.  I suppose that back in the day my sound card wasn't the best, so the music output vastly differed from the actual output of games like Doom, and apparently Return to Zork.  So now I get to hear what was intended, but damn it I want my old shitty soundcard music.

That being said, I'm really enjoying playing through this game again.

Zork: Nemesis hit this week.  Although it has a significantly darker tone than the other games, it is an amazing game and has to rank up there with my all-time PC faves.

Definitely rebuying it.

They are announcing stuff today:

Alone in the Dark triology $5.99
The Witcher $4.99 till end of May, then $9.99. Comes with a bunch of extras as expected, like a calendar made from the nudie cards. May have to buy this "just because" even though I can install from disc.

More announcements may come today.

Shit.  Makes me wish I hadn't just torrented The Witcher in hopes of playing through again to prepare for the sequel (I own the game, it just isn't with me here in TX and it was still like $20 everywhere when I looked).  Maybe I'll uninstall that and buy this.  I'll have to check the extras.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition - Director's Cut from GOG.

It lists the stuff here.

Looks like the new stuff here is basically that "Sexy" Calendar.
About The Art Book [probably PDF in digital version] - have they sold one in any other Editions of The Witcher before?

EDIT:
Mentioned in the Conference, The PDF Art Book for TW:EE-DC from GOG is the hard copy found in the The Witcher: CE's.

More info at 79 mins into this conference.

Holy crap - they signed ONE of the GOG Users 5 most requested companies for at least 25 more games to go there; all big names, too.
The 5 most requested are - EA, Microsoft Game Studios, Take Two, Lucas Arts, and Square Enix.
Expect the ONE to wind up on GOG by Summer 2011.

They are in the process of getting 2 more publishers to join by hopefully Fall 2011.

I tell you - GOG and CDP just keep banging out the awesome news.
And AITD series is only the first of the next wave of Atari games coming here, too.
I wonder whatelse from Atari is coming here...

Also, to correct something above, The Witcher will be available from May 10th to the 24th.  Guess they're releasing a line of things up until the 10th, then they release that at $5, and after that it goes to $10.

GOG website says:
"What game made you go to The Underworld?
Find out on April 27."

MysterD is betting on Ultima: Underworld.

Region restrictions be damned!

GoG will no longer use your IP to determine pricing and availability, you just set it in your options and it'll use that. And of course, you can lie.

GoG is awesome. From their Twitter:

There have been questions why GOG.com updated our privacy policy. We think RPS has figured it out. http://bit.ly/jU5QrQ

From RPS:

It’s great that GoG are employing trust in their customers this way, because it means they know that no one in Australia would ever dream of breaking this bond by using the lack of IP geo-tracking to purchase a game that’s been censored by their country’s government. It’s arguably a big risk they’ve taken, but I’m sure that not a single Aussie will let them down in this way, by taking advantage of the honour system by entering another country as their location when pre-ordering or purchasing the DRM-free version of the game from www.gog.com.

UbiSoft is already on-board w/ GOG and has been for some time.

People have been guessing it might be Microsoft, LucasArt, or EA.
Even Square Enix has been guessed.

Wont be Square. What kind of PC catalog do they even have? I doubt enough to be considered a "incredible increase in size" for the GoG catalog.

Unless they've got some SNES/PSX emulator or something.

Yeah, probably not a huge catalogue of PC games - when compared to say Microsoft, LucasArts, or EA.
Square Enix owns Thief, Deus Ex, and Dungeon Siege series for PC stuff.

They also own Hitman, Legacy of Kain, and Tomb Raider series.

Actually, I'd be quite cool w/ them bringing every Dragon Quest (AKA Dragon Warrior) and FF game to the PC.

Those were the 5 they announced they were trying to sign, around the time when they announced that conference w/ details on TW2.
People been guessing on the GOG boards.

My guess was it's all of them.
We'll see... *shrug*

Its EA. Privateer, Ultima Underworld 1 & 2, and Dungeon Keeper available now.

Quote
We will be adding more than 25 titles from EA over the next few months, so the games will be unveiled gradually, but we can already reveal that the next upcoming titles from this huge deal are: Crusader: No remorse, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri and Magic Carpet.
