NoClip has a 43-min video about GOG here Preserving Gaming's Past & Future:

This is all about how they track down rights of games/their music/etc; fix-up the old games to make them work on modern system; their first signing; and more.

Really interesting.  I'm glad to see the people involved, and where the whole thing sprang from.  Their success goes to show that games distribution doesn't have to be tied to punitive DRM.  While piracy continues, and GOG games are the easiest to pirate, they still more than make their nut, and gain a lot of enduring goodwill with their consumer-first approach.  They're out to please their customers, not wring everything out of them while tying their hands.  Seems like a great group of guys doing right by us in a place still largely free of the pathological hypersensitivity of the West.  Poland--who would've thunk?

As an aside, I found the "CC" button helped out a lot because of their accents.

Thanks for posting.

FCK DRM Web site from GOG.

GOG has started a new initiative called FCK DRM. This will be where stories, web-sites & info about DRM issues for music, games, e-books, images, etc. will go.

FCK DRM, eh? Seems...pretty straight-forward. :)

There isn't much there at the moment, other than the links to known related sites.  I'll keep an eye on it, see if anything interesting gets added.  Great idea, though, a site dedicated to opposing DRM in all software and media.

Thanks.

@Cobra

Yeah, nothing there of much yet.
Really love the idea and it listing places w/ full-blown DRM-FREE support too.

More info on GOG's FCK DRM program there - https://www.bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?action=viewthread&boardid=1&threadid=192820
