Just saw it. It was pretty good and since I had no idea what to expect, the last bit was disturbing. I had no idea it was based on a true story!
Yeah, it was very disturbing -- especially since....
...It looked like, for a while, they were somehow going to smooth this all over to an extent (they were still in deep shit for kidnapping)....but, nope -- the idiot listens to his boss and stupid enough, he blows the 15 year old away.
And it looks like most of these screw-ups of kids were trying to look for a better solution to the problem that they all created, but they eventually gave up and gave in to the darkness...and even when they went through w/ it all, it was like, "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...fuck...no.....don't make it worse than it already is..." And they kept descending down the downward spiral....And they knew it too, worst of all....they just gave up...
And b/c of the way they were portrayed, you cared about most of the characters -- b/c you did want them to go that route, either.
And I should add, Sharon Stone was pretty good, as the boy's mother.
