I'd technically had some poetry published before, but it was just a small journal out of Chicago somewhere that some guy photocopies and sends out to coffee houses and junk. Small time stuff. Today, however, I received notice of my first *real* publishing credit: UNC Charlotte's art mag, Sanskrit.
I'm pretty excited. They'd written to me in December saying they'd get back to me by February if they were going to use any of my submissions, and when I hadn't heard back I was a bit worried, but today I came home and there was a letter waiting for me on my desk!
Your poem, Poet Show, has been accepted for publication in the 2008 edition of Sanskrit Literary-Arts Magazine. This year's staff would like to thank you for submitting. It is no easy thing to be accepted. Sanskrit is regarded as one of the top college Literary-Arts Magazines in the country and is regularly the recipient of national awards. Without quality work such as yours, this could not happen. Thank you for helping us maintain 38 years of excellence.
We hope that you will continue to take interest in our magazine and encourage you to submit in the future.
*bliss out*

Heh, I hadn't been there in like... a year. I don't have time for it anymore, either. It really is a time sink, even if a productive one.

I will only show you if you get more drunk.
... I mean less drunk. Less.

I'm less drunk. Apparently it took a month and a half.

I'll PM it to you.

Well, thanks. I'm glad. I'm also glad that somebody with the capability to publish me thought the same.
