Hiroshi Yamauchi has died

According to this story, Hiroshi Yamauchi has died.  He was 85.  About as sad as news can get in the game industry.  RIP, Yamauchi-san.

That's sad news.  Whatever state Nintendo is in now, no one can deny the legacy he left behind.  He was one of the main forces that turned Nintendo from a playing card company into a video game company and the video game industry would have been a very different place without him.

Definite bummer. I mean, I think most of Nintendo's good decisions came under his watch, really. The downturn happened mostly after he left (at least in the worst ways).
