heh, cool pics. I've wanted to go on a photo walk. Just need to pick an interesting place. Did you go with other people or just by yourself and a few of your closest hot model friends?
-
On my own. Wouldn't mind going with others, but it's a pain to organize.
Just grabbed my camera, a long lens and shot whatever came to mind with no particular purpose other than to get something pleasing.
-
Very nice. I miss taking photo walks. But my camera sucks, and at this point, it hasn't had batteries for like... over a year.

I so have to visit you sometime. We can go to parties and Ill sit quietly in the corner like a total pussy. It'll be awesome.
-
All you need is a flashy camera, the bigger it looks, the better! Even if it won't actually make a difference in the photos (I took those photos with my smallest kit). ;)
I haven't shot at a club in some time. Back when I was first trying to get into it you wouldn't find a lot of other photographers at the same venue so it was a good opportunity to learn. Now, you'll find at least half a dozen photographers anywhere you go. They all shoot from some new website and think they know it all.
Club owners and event organizers are already cheap to start with, and now they are even less likely to pay for services considering most photographers are willing to give away their photos for free. What's worse isn't the competition, but that people got used to photographers and now just give you the same canned poses and expressions. It's hard to get variety and true emotions and makes club photography even less interesting. If it weren't for the Halloween theme in the gallery I posted, all the photos would've basically looked the same!
Anyway, here's a pic of me with some nuns: :P

HA! I have caught you in your lies! These women are obvious fakes that you made in 3D Studio! I have proof!

Yeah, look at those cheeks, she's obviously well fed. That's impossible for a model. I'll have to do better next time.

Soo...put in a good word for me?

Was this a "Hair Do's and Don'ts" show? Did you take any of the "Do's"?
:P
(I don't understand "fashion")
-
Hehe.
The first 2 photos are from the Wella presentation and the last 3 are from Matrix. They (along with a few others) tried to go for more funky and "in your face" kind of hair color and styles, not your every day stuff which is why they stood out and made for more interesting photos. The other presentations were more casual (and pretty boring in my opinion).
I thought the Matrix stage was one of the better ones. They had some very good models so the photos have more lasting appeal to me. The girls all had good make-up, decent styling and crazy hair so it was like doing a full on beauty shoot but without having to invest on your end in doing it in a studio.
You can see the rest of the gallery here (http://www.after2night.com/gallery.php?id=17&ref=home).

Sounds fun. I'll have to check out the gallery.

Interesting. What I really think needs to happen is chicks with those hairdos *and* bikinis.

How about some clowns?

Oh geez, i thought you were gonna show pics of clowns and bikinis! hehe
I never understood the appeal or humour of clowns. Even as a child I never liked them. Are they supposed to be funny or just silly? How did they become an actual act in every circus? Is it a French thing that I'll just never get because I'm not French? And what is up with porcelain clown dolls?!
Good photos btw.
-
There's numerous schools of clowns, and it's mainly a new world vs old world thing. New world is more what we associate these days with "clowns": silliness, balloons and lots of "hehe" and "haha".
Old world is more theatrical and dramatic with clowns often serving the role of the "guide" in a theatrical production. They can be funny, tragic, etc. They are supposed to be fairly straightforward characters and the productions can be very emotional and moving.
If you ever see any of the Cirque du Soleil productions, clowns often play a very important role as guides, basically they are the main "connection" between the circus acts and the audience.
-
Yeah, that's how they are portrayed in Shakespeare's works, most notably in Twelvth Night. The Fool is often the ironically intelligent character and guide. I always felt Shakespeare's fools were more like court jesters or harlequins.
I just don't like the modern clowns.
Cool coincidence, watched the latest episode of Reaper last night and it had Clown Strippers. What are the odds?! Is someone out there reading our threads?
Btw, do mimes count as clowns?
-
Btw, do mimes count as clowns?
I think so. There wasn't much speaking in that performance I shot. I'm actually not a huge fan of clowns either, but I did enjoy the show.
I should shoot more theatre. I enjoy the process and have become pretty good at nailing the exposure, which means less post work than regular events. The more I shoot, the more I hate post. Takes too much time!

Sweet! I love nature shots :)
These would make great wallpapers too!

I'm thinking of doing that, setup a small site and post wallpaper versions of the nature pics I take.
