Yea idol they do, but to have it done on a boat is highly unusual.

Actually I remember when there was a JAWS anniversary DVD coming out, and suddenly that month a lot shark attacks were being reported in the media. Like a lot. Turned out that that year the shark attacks had been statistically far less than previous years, but because of the whole anniversary thing, the attacks were more widely reported in the press.

It's a popularity thing.. What's the hot topic this season? All of a sudden you'll see a huge influx of the subject matter. It's how the media operates. Celebrity sex tapes, terrorism, corporate takeovers, weight/beauty tabloid pieces.. It all depends on media interest.

As Idol mentioned, people have been stung by STINGrays in the past, hence why they're called STINGrays. It's just that now it's more media attentive.
