The Quadruple Bypass Burger
« on: Sunday, November 19, 2006, 02:20:22 AM »
A 8,000-calorie burger has gone on sale in the US.

linky

Quote
The Quadruple Bypass Burger has four slabs of beef weighing 2lbs, three cheese layers, four bacon rashers, lettuce and tomato.

The Heart Attack Grill in Tempe, Arizona, has wheelchairs to carry customers out of the restaurant.

Customers can also order the smaller Triple Bypass Burger and Flatliner fries cooked in pure lard.

According to the Sun a spokesman said: "You have to be a real man to dine here."

Or a real moron?

That's retarded and an obscene display of gluttony.

I was considering using the animaniac's reference... but xessive beat me to it.

How would one go about eating that monstrosity.  You'd have to unhinge your jaw like a python eating a goat.

I would estimate it at 4000-8000 kilocalories, assuming the whole thing weighs about three pounds. Two or three of those should feed an adult for a week.

If I wanted to commit suicide, I think I'll do it by eating there morning, noon and night until I die.

Which would probably take about 3 or 4 days.

Man some of you guys are wusses with weak stomachs, yeah it's not good for you AT ALL, but I'm sure it tastes great.  I could never eat that in one sitting though, not without getting sick.  One time I attempted to eat a one pound burger at Fuddrucker's and maybe got half of it down with the fries it came with before putting the rest in a to go box and that was without eating all day.  I'm surprised I never heard of this place when I lived in Phoenix.

I managed to eat a one pound burger once.  I've also managed a 25-ounce steak that was served as part of a 3 course meal (on my honeymoon).  I'll be damned if I don't love food.  But even so, this shit just looks awful to me.  It's just too much.

Oh God I love Fuddruckers...so bad for you but I'm so weak. I always get the half pound burger and use LOTS of that hot gooey cheese.

That's what I usually get, I think its called the Chimney Rock or something like that, the one with bacon, bbqsauce and cheese.  I remember one time W7RE and I went there and we filled up one of those to go boxes with the free jalapeno cheese sauce and we used it for chips during the week.

For some reason Fuddruckers reminds me of Fraggle Rock, and since Cracker Barrel reminds me of Fuddruckers, whenever I go past a Cracker Barrel (or a sign for one) I think about Fraggle Rock.

I've eaten a kilogram in a sitting, when I was in high school I used to eat the fucking (PDF:) megacalorie burger for lunch (with fries and a soft drink - actually, the burger alone was ~1.1 megacalories = 1100 kilocalories) more than once a week, I still think that shit is gross. (Do not even compare your sissy palette to mine, for I routinely digest things that would burst forth from your abdomen after completing their larval gestation).

Man what are you talking about?  I seriously hope you aren't taking offense to that comment I made, it sure seems like you are, but I could be reading it wrong.  I was just merely saying I didn't get grossed out by the sight of it like some other people did.  Seeing certain things rarely grosses me out so much that I can't eat.  Just about an hour ago I was watching some surgery thing on TLC while I was eating lasagna.

Y'know, as a matter of fact, I've watched surgeries while eating. Indeed I know the gist of a quadruple bypass.

That burger looks about as disgusting as sticking a straw into a fat guy's (stomach) and sucking.

Dude do you know Tet? As in you are buddies in real life and have a good enough understanding to say shit like that to each other?

Otherwise that is really out of order. I know people who would kill someone for saying that. And I don't even understand why what he said offended you.

I really, really hope this is a joke.  If it isn't I have no clue what set you off so bad, I wasn't trying to attack you personally at any point or insult you.  I could maybe see how my posts in this topic could be misinterpreted that way in which case your response still seems to be an overreaction.

Woah, hope that simmers down.

Anyway, I wasn't disgusted by its appearance, I love burgers. I was appalled by its concept! The mere fact that this burger was made, in its grotesque proportions, somehow offends me. It's kinda how I feel when I see someone just throwing good food away.

As I believe you've been informed already, it tends to work a little different here.

And you're right, X, it does seem like an awful lot of waste.  I mean, you couldn't really eat all that even in two meals, and is that going to be any good reheated?  Probably not.  It'd be a soggy mess.

Without any meat?? That's like a salad sandwich!

Sometimes I make a sandwich without bread.. When I feel like cold-cuts I just wrap the luncheon/roast beef/smoked turkey/smoked chicken with lettuce (+ tomatoes and anything else I feel like).. It's like a green sandwich.

Salad sandwich.. yes.  I don't really like heavy sandwiches. I don't even like cheese on my burgers! yes, it's weird.  Ever since I was a kid that's how it's been. My mom said I'd always take off the cheese.

Sandwich without bread.. ever try using soft mexican tortillas?  kinda like a quesadilla but not quite.  Or chapatis!

Wrapping things in lettuce is SO korean .. heheh

Yeah i sued to eat a lot of soft tortillas.. Make good wraps.. Arabic bread (similar to Greek Pita, but much thinner) is great for wraps too.

Haha someone told me that, said I'll probably end up marrying a Korean girl! :P

The Arabic word for bread is "khubz" or in Egypt it's "Ai'ysh" (which also means "living," it's kinda like the same way "breadwinner" is used in English). Yeah, most people just call it "khubz" or "khubuz" to distinguish it from pita or nan (I love nan and puri!), but in Arabic it's just bread.

Oh my God yes, Korean food is pretty amazing! I had  a few friends who opened a restaurant back when I was in St. Catharines that specialised in Asian cuisine and bubble tea ;D (Pug you might know this :D) The Korean food they made there was incredible! Now I have to try Korean food in Korea!

the best is to make friends with a korean mom.. she'll feed you like anything!

When I was a little girl, we had a korean neighbor.  My playmates were two korean little boys.. I'd go over with my brother and we'd play with them every day.  My mom would spend time with their mom and exchange recipes.  So we got a lot of korean food while growing up.  They moved away and we'd still visit.. Eventually they went back to their country.

I feel proud knowing that burger could only exist in America.

Also, it's good to see that W&C hasn't changed a bit. :)
