Yay, Colorado's reputation can go down the shitter once more.
We really are normal. Almost all of us.
But it is quite sad. I have visited that school many times(I live in Littleton, going to school in DC) and know the area very well.
I am curious who they figure the shooter to be. Most news places say that he was an adult..
-
That made me feel sad man.. It's shame for anyone to die so needlessly.
-
I heard about that today. Man, it's messed up, especially right after the Montreal incident too.
-
So now the reports are saying that the assault was "sexual in nature". That is after 4 of the girls were released and the 2 were left.
I saw it coming since he made all of the boys leave, but I was really hoping it wasn't true.
Oh, and the guy is some 53 year old guy who lived in his car.
-
I actually just read this right before I came here. Quite a sad story, my condolences go out to the family of that little girl. God only knows what they were forced to do with that sicko.
-
As if my faith in the world wasn't low enough already. That's really sad. Remind me again why we aren't allowed to turn homeless people into dog food?
-
because one of us would end up dog food.
but seriously... that's sad. There's always something like this in the news nowadays... like that lady who was dragged on the highway leaving a mile long trail of blood.. then that lady who killed her friend, friend's fetus and kids..
insanity.

The problem with stories like this is lack of perspective. "In other news, 20 million children went to school and got back home today, and every day for years on end . . ." You never hear that. You only hear the extremely exceptional bad news. That preys unduly on people's fear-driven minds.
I'm not minimizing the tragedy. I'm saying that thinking the world is going to hell because of things like this is way wrong. (It may very well be going to hell for other reasons, though.)
-
I agree. My own statement was made more because of the other reasons. This just reminds us of all the other reasons when we might have started to forget for the day.
-
sometimes it makes me think that the media will try to have the most controversial articles just to get viewers.
-
Um... probably because that's what they do more than anything else.
-
Oh, you're here. I got a warning as soon as I started to post. I was going to say to Raisa, they're in the business of getting people's attention. Why would they do that?
-
well that's what i'm getting at... the media could probably pay people to do controversial things ya know.. I've seen it happen... unfortunately, a couple of my aunts are reporters.. and damn...
it's really quite disgusting. It's like they gotta dramatize everything... when there are way more other things that need the attention. I guess that's how bored they are.
