IGN gives Far Cry 4.0 for the Wii (http://wii.ign.com/articles/751/751136p1.html)

I guess not only has Far Cry been consolized, but so has the hero Jack Carver. The game was slaughtered in the review for the Wii but what I really found interesting was:
The title follows ex-military guru Jack Carver, whose mysterious past has somehow familiarized him with a variety of dangerous weapons and allowed him to unexplainably use feral powers to become part man-massacring beast when the situation calls for it
The poor guy was so normal on the PC. And now he has become Manimal.
Who is Manimal? linky (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manimal)
But this just personally confirms what I've thought of the Wii for the past few years, that it is a good side dish, but shouldn't be used as the main course. Though who the hell buys a Wii to play franchises like Fifa, NFS, Far Cry etc. anyway? You buy it to play all the unique stuff.

Didnt they do that animal stuff in the Xbox versions?
I still kind of with they would have gone and added that back into the PC game.
-
Yeah, all that stuff was in the Xbox version and word was it wasn't half bad.
-
Sorry I wasn't clear enough. I know they did this in the Xbox version, which is what I meant by consolized. As for my final comments on the Wii, they are regarding the fact that the game scored abysmally.

Funny... they gave the gameplay 7, so it's obviously a game that actually 'works', but they docked it tons for graphics and stuff.

Crytek's Far Cry on the PC is a great game, despite it's shitty save system.
To be honest, any Far Cry licensed game that is NOT developed by Crytek just don't seem to interest me really too much.

For me at least, Far Cry was a decent game, but I actually stopped playing once the monsters starting showing up. I found that the game went straight downhill once that occurred because those dudes could kill you in two swipes but it would take an entire magazine to down them. It was a great game up until those monsters starting showing up.

The game started getting really, really boring until the monsters showed up. You all know how fucking boring I find real-world stuff. It was like... oh look, another camouflaged guy standing in the bushes waiting for me to kill him. Yay. Then the monsters showed up and I got just enough variety to start having a lot of fun. From there on out it was just awesome. I didn't dislike fighting the soldiers, it's just that I could never have spent an entire game doing just that.
But I'm with MyD. I don't care much about any FC games not developed by Crytek themselves. Haven't followed any of these things at all since the first game.

I loved the game till the trigen. I found the whole camouflage with the fairly realistic combat to be immense. Same reason I enjoyed F.E.A.R. I know the game had a supernatural theme, but that was on the surface. The combat until the end was fairly realistic and quite intense.
But yea the reason I hated the trigen was because they were so fast. Plus they looked so non threatening. They were like two legged piggies.

I agree with both sides. It all rocked.

I love Far Cry's SP, but don't care for its save system.
Am I the only one who loved both the soldier fighting and I love the monster fighting? I just thought both parts of the game were so well done, it just was a hard game to hate.

I don't know what it is w/ Crytek, but Far Cry showed technical excellence in the engine and the actual game itself.
I really am looking forward to Crysis. That is the next Crytek FPS I really want to play -- especially since it'll have a Quicksave system and all.
