While my parents do get me cool items for christmas, they allow my brother and I to pick out our own "big gift" with a $100 limit.
So I chose to get the lens adapter for my Powershot A80 and the wide angle lens to go with it. I'm going to order it off Amazon in a few moments. I found a cool page that has a comparison. These are both taken from the same camera as I have.

So wooty woot for landscapes and interior shots! Plus the adapter itself lets me use a variety of 52mm lenses and filters. Fun times ahead!

Awesome. I have my shitty-ass Nikon that's all... shitty. I really wish I had a "real" camera, but I can't afford another hobby. Not even a little bit. And nobody gets me stuff for Christmas. This year from my wife I got a cake, because technically my Christmas present was the 360 which I got months ago and had no way of justifying purchasing. I'm also about to clear out my birthday present by buying those first edition Sylvie and Bruno books.

Well you can make the cheap $11 Super Wide Angle lens (read: fish eye) here (http://www.instructables.com/id/EYY1F7X6PCEP287S4U/?ALLSTEPS). I'm probably going to try it as well just for fun.

The lens arrived...the adapter did not. Looks like they sent them in separate packages. At least the shipping was free, but I can't use the lens yet without the adapter. Gah...its like torture.
Anyway, the lens is cool. Has 2 caps for when you take it off the camera and its own little carrying bag.

Nice. I'd like to get one as well. The catch is that since I do a lot of low light it's hard to find a cheap lens that gives a big angle but also performance well in low light for cheap.

The adapter arrived today. Hooray! Now I can take wide shots of things!
