Why? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?
-
It seems like a great idea at the time, but a few hours later it becomes clear that it was a horrible idea. I haven't eaten KFC in....two years. I learned my lesson. :P
-
A whole lot of racist photoshops just flooded my brain. Damn internet....
-
The stuff is delicious, but evil incarnate. I'm trying to stay away from junk food, so... no more for me. I did have one of those bowls the other day though... damn me that's good.
-
Does anybody remember KFC advertising their food as healthy like a year or two ago? The commercial went something like this:
Guy1: Hey man, have you been working out? You look good!
Guy2: Yeah dude! That, combined with all the great protein and health benefits of KFC helped me gain 25 pounds of muscle!
Guy1: Awesome! KFC is so healthy!
Maybe I exaggerated a little, but I swear they actually tried to use that as a selling point.

I haven't had KFC in like... 10 years + I think?

I remember that, they were trying to cash in on the whole low carb diet fad. I seem to remember the commercials dying away pretty quickly.
I do feel better now that I know everyone else has that experience with KFC. About once a year I somehow forget how much my intestines hate KFC and eat there only to remember all too well my misery.
-
That's exactly it. Once a year you forget. :(
Myself and Xessive had our share of interesting experiences with KFC. I think I make a KFC thread every year hahah... I bet I will do it again next year.
-
What I don't understand is why all you people have such a problem with it. It's vile stuff, but it never affects me that way. I hardly ever eat it, but I don't tend to have particularly terrible experiences when I do.
-
I'm with Que. You people are puny. The only thing I ever feel after eating KFC is overly stuffed sometimes.
I get the stuff every few months myself.. I just love it. Probably too much.
-
Nothing else affects me this way. I can eat just about anything, but that really screws up my tummy. I think it is the extra crispy skin.
-
man, KFC is dog food compared to Popeyes.
-
Man, KFC would be so fucking good right now. Hmm, maybe I'll take a little ride.

I've never had Popeyes. :(
Do they have spinach?
-
its a fried chicken place with a cajun theme. They make the best spicy chicken and their fries and biscuits are only like a spillion times better than KFC. Oh its not as bad for you in terms of trans fat and that stuff.
-
Send me some. :(
I've seen them in the middle east but never tried. I should have.

Except that it's still so bad any difference is more or less entirely negligible.

Incorrect. KFC contains more sodium and trans fat than any fast food chain in the world.
"It's harder to avoid trans fat at KFC than at any other fast-food chain in America," (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/thecheckout/2006/06/post_7.html)
-

-
popeyes aren't as common but i've only tried them at the hongkong airport. I had a really long layover so I got bored and bought food from several places.
-

Are you serious? You know this shit adds up over time. If you look at the nutritional facts of the food at KFC and other fast food places the difference is QUITE noticeable. No difference between a 1500 calorie meal and one thats 900? To people who are trying to watch what they eat (like I am) thats a huge gap. This is why I can go to a fast food place, eat and then go to the gym later and not feel guilty. Not so with KFC. I am avoiding that place like the plague.
-
Whatever you say. If you're really trying to watch what you eat, you shouldn't be eating fast food, period. You may be able to get away with it because you have the metabolism of a humming bird, but that isn't so for everyone, and the nutritional value of all fast food is next to nothing while the fat content is extreme even if you aren't talking KFC. KFC may be worse, but it's all so bad who really cares?
-
I'm with Que on this one. A couple hundred calorie difference is a lot, but if you very rarely eat fast food it won't matter. If you're eating fast food regularly enough to be counting the calories between chains, then you're not eating healthy anyways.

Let me rephrase. I am trying to lose weight not watching what I eat. It is kind of the same territory but not exactly. I am on a low-calorie diet and each day I try and keep myself 500 calories below the recommended daily value.(which is 2000) I burn about 900 calories a day on pure exercise alone. I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and do not mind eating fast food as long as I keep myself under. I find this virtually impossible with KFC; its nearly DOUBLE the calories and fat of places like In-N-Out. If I eat at KFC then I am forced to skip an entire meal which I cannot do.
To answer your final question of "Who cares?", the answer is me. I care.
-
How many people do you know that burn 900 calories a day from exercise? I'm not trying to rag on you, I'm just saying for most people this distinction doesn't mean shit. I work out for 20 minutes every morning and walk home 20 minutes nearly every night, and that's probably like 250 calories burnt *tops*. So... yeah. Plus, comparing KFC to In-N-Out isn't really fair because In-N-Out compares favorably to a lot of other fast food joints, really. I mean, you compare KFC to Jack in the Box and your numbers aren't going to be nearly so disparate.

Actually, in my crazy calorie counting quest I look up nutritional facts on almost everything I eat. While In-N-Out uses fresher ingredients and tastes better, it is NOT any better for you than of the other burger chains. An In-N-Out meal nets me around 800 calories while McDonalds is slighty worse at around 1000. KFC though is anywhere between 1500-1600 depending on what sides I get. For someone who is counting calories that is a huge difference and yes, there is plenty of people who do this and care.
I frickin love fast food and I cant do without it. All this running I do at the YMCA is just to work off the fast food I eat and still lose weight. I feel its worth it.

Screw KFC and Popeye's (even though I love them both).... BOJANGLES is where it's at. Even with the absurdly racist name.
-
Man, it feels so good to be home! Now I can have my mama's fried chicken ;D Even though the KFC and Popeye's here are way (WAY) better than the ones in Canada I'll take home food over restaurants/fastfood any day.
Hehe I love chicken ;D Grilled is by far my favourite, but all other styles are great too :P
-
Man, chicken is the only thing they serve at work. Its either tenders or wings and I am so sick of both. I wont be touching KFC or any fast food chicken place for a while. Its the greasy burgers I go for.

Man! If there was a chicken place here called "BOJANGLES" I would go pretty much go everyday because hey the place is called BOJANGLES!
