They are beating Nintendo on this one. First in price...$5.99 per PS1 game as opposed to Nintendos $5 for a NES game. And then in the games themselves (at least for me). Rally Cross already out, and next up is Wipeout and Jet Moto. Damn I loved all those games.
-
And then you can transfer those PS1 games to your PSP and play them, which is bloody awesome. Though in that sense, I have no need to buy them, since I can rip and play the games I already own on my PSP with its lovely new hacked firmware. And that's good, since I already paid for those games and have no desire to pay for them twice.

You dirty pirate you.
I wish Nintendo had some sort of relationship Sony has with their hand held and older games. Why can't I play emulated SNES games on my DS.
-
You can play those on the PSP too. :P

Rally Cross was the shit

I don't know if I'd say Nintendo dropped the ball with the Wii VC, but it's definitely over hyped.
-
Yeah, considering the game selection fucking sucks ass. Mario Bros? Tennis? C'mon.
-
Yeah, the selection is rough. Though you have to see...do they blow their load at the start and release all the heavy hitters like every Zelda, Metroid, FZero, and Mario from NES on up? While that would be amazingly awesome...what would people then look forward to?
I think the pricing needs adjustment. $5, $8, and $10 for NES, SNES, and N64? I'd say $2, $3, and $5 would be far closer to what I'd consider paying. NES games made their money long ago. Theres no development time anymore...its just profit to sell these ROMs.
Now $5, $8, and $10 is good for new, VC specific games. Like Geometry Wars or whatever...a new game made for VC. Hopefully Nintendo has games like that already in the works.

Yeah, I'd say the prices are too steep at the moment, and I'd also say that idol is right. More good will come, but they gotta' take it a step at a time. And as I don't have a Wii because I am poor and Julia can't use the controller... I guess it doesn't matter to me. There are a few N64 games I wouldn't mind playing, though. I'd probably consider paying $10 for those.
