My Granddad died on Friday so my parents and brother went to England for the funeral. I stayed at home for many reasons, long story short, it just wasn't practical. (Nobody need give condolences.)
The first night was kind of weird. I've been home alone before but always knowing that somebody would come home a few hours later. I didn't know what to do, so I cleaned. I took every key off my keyboard and cleaned them individually. This keyboard is older than I am and I doubt anybody has ever cleaned it bfore. It's practically changed colours.
Then I took my favourite cd's and laid them across my table kind of like a tablecloth. It's tacky but looking at cd's makes me happy and it's much more interesting than a blank table.
Bed was weird. It was my first time going to bed in a completely empty house. I was oddly weary for no real reason but after the first night it was fine. One thing I'm completely paranoid of is locking myself out of the house. I have a habit of doing that once or twice a year, but now nobody's home so if I'm locked out, I'm stuck.
Cooking is awesome. I'm making such elaborate meals for myself. the first day I cooked beef stew which isn't elaborate at all actually. Then I made salmon filets with lemon sauce and fries. Today I made bacon cheeseburgers with corn on the cob and fries. Tomorrow, tacos! Cooking for yourself is just so satisfying. and I'm making really simple foods, but you got to start somewhere.
I didn't walk around naked though. One time I did that a few months ago. I'm not much of an exhibitionist, I prefer being clothed but just decided to for the fun of it. So I walk downstairs into the living room and see this girl delivering leaflets walking up to my door. She must have been about 15 years old or so. I totally forgot that I was naked and that the window is really big, and quite easy to see through. so I walk into the living room and she looks at me. I suddenly realize I'm naked and just freeze. she also freezes. I didn't know what to do so I waved. she ran away.

oh, and showering with the door open is the bomb. I found out that my speaker wires extend to the bathroom so I get to rock out in the shower now. the showerhead is removable and works well as a pretend microphone too.

lol... new found freedom. then you'll be all depressed when they get back, incentive to move out.
when i lived alone, i hardly made any meals. I'd cook one meal a day and just munch on fruit. but my house was really nice and neat.
