So I just cleaned my tub because it was starting to look all sorts of gross. I used soap scum remover to clean all of it. It worked for pretty much the wall but as for the floor, it did nothing. It still looks bad, I tried using bleach spray, still no dice. I let it sit before I tried scrubbing. How am I to rid of this evil dirtiness?
Edit: Picture added for good measure. Look, it mocks me.

Ever seen those commercials for CLR cleaner? That stuff works like it just like it shows on TV. Its a little more expensive than regular cleaners though, but it works. You might need an abrasive cleaner though like Ajax or Comet, that stuff looks like its really in there.

muriatic acid always does it for me! just handle with care please!

I find my tub never gets really soap scummy, it just gets this reddish film
but yeah, I was forced by my roommates to start cleaning my bathroom more often hahaha

Alright, I was told to pour bleach on it and let it sit for a while.

Thats what we do. Fill the tub up a bit, and poor some bleach in it. Let it sit for a while, then drain, and scrub. Then rinse. Usually works for us. We don't get horrible soap scum, but it does get a bit dirty.

Fuck, this is becoming a frustrating procedure. Let the bleach sit for like 4 hours. I scrub and manage to get about 10% of it off. Guess I'll try it again tomorrow.

Try some hydrogen peroxide. Pour it on, scrub a bit and let it sit. It'll eat away at the stuff. Bleach isnt very reactive, which is why its not doing much.
Like Rasia said, muriatic acid works wonders. You just have to be careful with the stuff.

I never ever thought I'd see a picture of someone's tub from these forums. :P

Yeah, well, at least he wasn't in it. :o

I can arrange that for you. ;) :-[

I usually just use ajax, but I think your tub is well beyond that point. My dad used to flip houses. He used a cleanser that could clean almost any bathtub but I can't remember for the life of me what it was called. Eventually stains can work their way into the pores of the porcelain effectively making them impossible to get out. New bathtub time?

Spotless might work if you're too scared to use muriatic acid?
Whenever I arrive at a new apartment, I look for strong bleach or muriatic acid and throw it all over the bathroom floor, sinks etc. It gets it all clean and stuff though the smoke and hissing makes it scary sometimes. Like all the shit will blow up all over the place.
ahhh makes me think of looking and choosing apartments or even hotel rooms.. Always check the bathroom first.
