Title: I suck at poker... or something...
Post by: iPPi on Saturday, February 03, 2007, 10:27:43 PM
I guess I'm pretty bad at poker.  My friend told me about a free $100 for just signing up at Partypoker, so I did, and they give you $75, and after 1000 raked hands, they give you the last $25.

I lost those $75 pretty quickly.  I mean... about 2 days (4 hours each) of play time.

Then I got an email that was a free $10 revival bonus, so I grabbed that, managed to get that $10 to like $30-something, and then lost the rest of it.

I think I suck at poker when it just involves sitting down and playing with cash or something.  I mean, I win poker games with friends all the time, and it's tournament style (buy-in, and whoever wins gets most of the money).

I've also won a $25 tournament in Reno last April, netting more than $650.

So... yea.  Just felt like ranting about some very frustrating moments in poker the last couple of days.  At least all the money I lost does not come from my wallet... not a single penny.

I'm quite good at real-life poker, but as far as online poker goes I hate it. It's boring. I like to drink and fuck around with people when I play.

i'm with ghandi, online poker pretty much sucks. it's as much a psychological game as it is a numbers game, and you really don't get that playing over the net.

i'm not at all bad at playing real life poker. i just provoke people to the point where they'll bet against me even when they have pretty terrible cards - you can't do that online. although being able to divide 52 quickly, for the odds, helps as well.

Yea I guess that's the problem with online poker.  The psychology aspect is generally missing.  In real-life, I'm pretty good at poker as well.
