Title: I know everyone has seen it, but American History X really was a great movie

Finally got around to seeing it.  I found it to be a very compelling movie that did a good job of portraying different sides and the complexity of race in America.

I remember watching and enjoying it, but it's been a long ass time.  I don't remember it very well.

Same here its been a few years for me at least.  I do remember the curb scene quite vividly though.

I saw this in theaters when it came out, I was with my brother and his white girlfriend. She kept asking me if I were ok.

Don't you hate people who try so hard to be sensitive and open minded that they make those who are of a minority feel different?

On a side note, Edward Norton is a really good actor.  It is interesting seeing how different he looks in American History X compared to Fight Club, he's pretty ripped in American History X and looks like a totally different person.

yeah, one of my favourite films - although it's not something i can really watch too often. it's more than a little depressing.
