Beyond Divinity just got patched to 1.49, for the English versions of the game (Retail box).
IT REMOVES STARFORCE and allows for compatibility onto Windows VISTA (http://www.larian.com/riftrunner/support.php)
Beyond Divinity patch V. 1.49 (for English versions, exc. Australian) - February 15th, 2007
This patch will bring your version of Beyond Divinity to V 1.49
It removes the Starforce protection, fixing a number of problems players have been reporting including Windows Vista compatibility. The patch includes all previous fixes. Please mind it is ONLY compatible with the English version of Beyond Divinity (excluding Australian - click here to download patch 1.45 for the Australian version) (http://www.larian.com/riftrunner/Australiansupport.php). To install it, just download patch V. 1.49 (9.65 mb), run it and follow the onscreen instructions.
Your savegames won't be affected by applying the patch.
I wish more companies would do what Larian did w/ BD and Egosoft did w/ X3 -- remove SF period.
Not too long ago, I asked the Larians if they planned to get the game going for Vista, like some other games have suddenly done. Good thing I opened my mouth.... (http://www.larian.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=Rift_general&Number=314292&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1)

I'm currently re-addicted to this game again, thanks to the removal of StarForce in that patch. :)
If you liked Divine Divinity, you'll probably like this one; which is a much darker game than the original.
And yes -- The Divinity games have great interfaces. If only games had such a good and clean interface as theirs.

Nice to see people doing this.

Nice to see people doing this.
Amen.
If only more publishers were update their games, especially older ones, old games to run on newer systems and OS's.
AND definitely if only more publishers would remove the need of the CD/DVD for their STARFORCE protected games.
