Just driving down a straight 2 lane road going about 45 mph and a stupid bitch on her cell phone takes a left turn right in front of me. Had my lights on and everything, I slammed my breaks and blared the horn. I should have fucking nailed her so her insurance takes the hit.

Good to know you made it out of it unscathed though. I've had my share of close calls too. One I remember more vividly is driving about 40 mph down a busy 4-lane road. A senior citizen that was headed in the opposite direction that I was turned left to go to a restaurant right in front of me. I still don't know how I avoided a collision on that one.
I don't know what the hell he was thinking. I mean I was almost directly in front of him, in broad daylight. I don't know how he didn't see me or the other five cars headed my way. I seriously contemplated accosting him and taking his license from him, but I figured it just wasn't worth it.

I saw that accident you narrowly avoided today last summer first hand. Very disturbing, especially because I could hear the passenger's reaction right before they got smoked and rolled over. I think everyone more or less ended up 'fine' though as there wasn't any mention of fatalities or very serious injuries in the news report right after.

I had a really close call about 2 weeks ago. I was turning Left in the right lane of a double Left turn lane to merge onto a highway like 4 cars back in line when for some reason a jackass decided to turn left from the straight lane to my right. I completed my turn and noticed him on the right just behind my car, looked to my left to find a large truck parallel with me. We were running 3 cars wide on a 2 lane road and a retaining wall was comming up fast. Luckily the guy in the truck saw what was happening and slowed down. I was able to gun my car and swerve to the left just before the guy hit me.
The dumbest part was the asshole had the nerve to pull up next to me and give me the finger before speeding off at like 90mph down the highway. I still don't know how I avoided the collision. The guy had to be mere inches away from my car.

I've been in so many car accidents that I'm afraid to drive or even get into a car. When I was 19 I flipped my car over, even though I was lucky enough not to get hurt (and EVERYONE reminded me of how I should've died) I didn't feel lucky. I only had a minor scratch on my pinky finger, but when I woke up the next day my entire body was in pain for about a week. The movies lie, getting into car accidents hurt like shit.
The last one I got into was several months ago, I didn't have my seatbelt on and just had arm surgery. I got a face full of airbag and minor burns up my forearm. Once again I wasn't hurt, but I was very shaken, which is out of character for me.

Sucks Pyro... bimbos + cellphones = begging for death. I almost slammed into someone with Julie and Sy in the car the other night. All of a sudden traffic just stopped and everybody slammed on their breaks when some guy decided to change lanes. I really haven't had many close calls, though. There was one when Julia still lived up at her old place in Berkeley... tons of super tiny two-way streets up there, and some idiot kids with trust funds and fast cars. One almost fucking killed me. I actually almost hit a telephone pole avoiding him... managed to get through okay somehow. But that's the only real close call I can think of.

I'm glad that driving and holding a cell phone up is illegal here.. I don't get why some people just won't use the headphones.. They come free with every cell phone..

I've gotten cut off twice (basically turned into, so I had to slam on the brakes or I would have been hit) on my bike. Additionally, I got attacked by a dog. That was scary. Glad to hear everyone is staying alert and alive on the roadways.

I hate that stupid cellphone law. Now, I hate cells and get really angsty at the people who use them, but seriously, do you think people are getting into accidents because one of their hands isn't free? I used to be able to drive stick while eating a hamburger and grabbing fries from a pack on the seat. No, people get into accidents because they're on their fucking phones paying zero attention to what they're actually doing. I think the headphone law is about the most idiotic thing ever.

People need to pull over to have phone converstions, or hire a driver. I have a tough time even talking to people in the car with me, when I'm driving. It's a full-time job, most of the time. It's damned irresponsible to be conducting business or having a hairy argument while guiding a 2-ton missile. But cars are like sacred cows. Everyone expects to be allowed to drive one regardless of how little responsibility they take about it.

Theres a story today about some retarded teenager who was TEXTING on his phone while driving, hit and killed a 65 year old man on a bicycle. Now they are going to pass a law that says you cant text while driving.

I agree. Old people, cell phone users and women should be taken off the roads. We'd be like 95% safer.
