Yeah with the "elite" coming out it makes sense they would.

For now MS insists that they will continue to have the 3 tiers available. What they really need to do is address the heat issue with the smaller die process that's supposedly on the way. Once they do that, I'd consider the Elite a real upgrade. For now, it's way too much money for too little extra capability. Component hookup works perfectly for me, and I can manage with the small HDD just fine.

That processor improvement to reduce heat generation is in the Elite I believe.

Hmm, I was under the impression that nothing changed other than the bigger HDD and the HDMI output. The 65-nm process is still in the future, somewhere, maybe . . .

Yea you are right. Initially it was rumored that the smaller die process would feature on the elite version, but it turned out to be not true.
