According to GSpot, yes! (http://www.gamespot.com/psp/puzzle/puzzlequestchallenge/review.html) I've gotta' say I'm surprised. But I think I'm actually gonna' pick this one up. It sounds weird, but everyone seems to like it and being both a fan of puzzle games and RPGs (not to mention games with lots of content), I don't see how I can pass this up.

If you want to try it, they did release a PC demo.
-
Here (http://www.gamedaily.com/canvases/gd/_a/download-puzzle-quest-demo/20070315101009990002), in fact.
-
Thank you, I'm lazy.
-
Sweet! I'll give it a shot. Barring horrible catastrophe, I'll probably snag this tomorrow. I've been looking for something with this kind of pacing. But why the hell have a PC demo and then not make a PC version? That seems odd.
-
Downloading now.
That does seem odd, Que. Maybe they are planning to release it on the pc later on?
-
It does. Especially since the casual market is huge on PC.
-
I tried the PC demo, wasn't a huge fan personally, but it was mostly the specific puzzle mechanics of this game that threw me off. I liked the spelling rpg a lot better...whatever that was.
Anyways, PA is a big fan of Puzzle Quest if that means anything to you.
-
It doesn't in particular, but... yeah, I tried it out and I completely love it. I don't know why but I just can't put it down. I'm amazed that something which sounds so completely awful on paper could turn out to be so fun. Definitely try out the demo. The game seems pretty nicely developed. The writing is pretty good thus far (even if the plot doesn't seem like anything special), and the art is really nice. It looks pretty good for the kind of game it is even on PC, but on PSP I imagine it'd look great!
So yeah, I'll be getting this tomorrow.
-
Yea I've read this is a good title on the PSP.
-
Tried out the demo. I have to say that I liked it as well. I spent way too long on it, I should be in bed. Some of the randomness was pissing me off (a row of +5 skulls drops for one guy) but it was surprisingly fun considering how simple it was. The dialogue struck me as somewhat amateurish, though, and you seemed to level quickly. Don't know how that will handle in the full game. Too bad I don't have a DS / PSP.
-
The dialogue struck me as quite good, actually, especially when you consider how bad games like this often are. It's passable at worst, but seems above average most of the time.
Checking out the PSP version now. Seems roughly the same, just a bit less pretty. But it really does make it seem even more odd that no PC version has been announced, because the PC demo and the PSP game are both very different yet still consistently well done it seems like. If you're going to take the time to develop a very nicely working PC version, why not offer it for sale? I mean, we sort of guess they'll be announcing it at some point, but it just seems like it should already be up and running.

I have heard the PSP version is better than the DS version.
-
Yeah, supposedly the DS version has a few problems that aren't quite as minor as the PSP version's problems.
