Title: IGN should stop reviewing movies.
Post by: Pugnate on Friday, April 27, 2007, 04:06:15 AM
They are horrible horrible at it. Simply atrocious. Check this review of "The Condemned" out. This is pretty much the first I've read anything on it, though I've seen the advertising all over the net.

It is like reading two reviews.

The first four paragraphs build it up and read like a part of some advertising campaign. From the first four bits it seems like this is going to be a very fun movie. Then follows a movie still and then four paragraphs that seem to be the actual review, that tear the movie apart.

It is a horrible piece of writing, poorly structured. How can you shift momentum half way through a review like that?

I wrote a post in reply to you Pug but while I ripped the movie apart and sort of defended IGN ( :o )it sounded like I was having a go at you, which was not the point at all. Simply put nothing in that review sounds good, there's no build up other than 4 paragraphs of how shit the plot is.  :P

I do not read movie reviews.  I prefer to judge a movie myself.
