GRY-OnLine.pl sends along a rumor they've uncovered that Test Drive Unlimited 2 is currently in production, to be released for PC and Xbox 360 in March 2008. They also predict the game will introduce off-road racing, dynamic weather, and over 2400 km of roads. They say the source of this information is anonymous, but claim the news is "100% reliable."

If I'm still around then, sign me up. I'm still living in virtual Oahu, whenever I get the chance. I'd like to see them improve on some things, like modeling vehicles other than RWD cars with some semblance to reality, and in particular, the smoothness and reliability of data streaming. I'd love to see them use the HDD for massive caching of world data, if it's available.

Did you get the original for the X360 or PC?
Either way, monthly fee for this game??!?!?

X360. I've fallen well below the leading edge on PCs, which means new PC games are more likely than not a bad investment. I might try the happy underground store's version sometime, since I've already paid full admission. Not yet.
Gold subscription is a monthly fee, so if this game is all you ever need it for, then yes.

But, anyways - for anyone who has played TDU2 on PC or consoles, what is this game really like? Is it any good?
I've played a good deal of racers, over the years, recently including...
DIRT 2; NFS: Most Wanted, Carbon, Undercover, Hot Pursuit [2010]; Burnout: Paradise - The Ultimate Box; and Midnight Club 2.
Is it as good as any of these?
