Title: Killzone Liberation
Post by: iPPi on Friday, September 22, 2006, 06:05:42 PM
So Playstation Underground mailed me a demo disc for this game, which is for the PSP.  It's pretty fun.

I've never played the Killzone series before though, but this version seems designed for a portable system.  I can only hope that they might have a cooperative mode or something like that.

Edit:  Just checked the killzone boards and it appears there will a be a 2 player coop.  I'm all for it.  Too bad it's all ad hoc.

What sucks is that I know no one personally (ie. real life) that owns a PSP.

Edit again: There will be infrastructure multiplayer and downloadable content that will be released after the game.

I may be able to try this game out soon.  I've been reading up on it for about a week.  I hope it lives up to the press it's getting.  The PSP is in dire need of must-have games.  There's a flood of mediocrity and ports, but very few essential games.

I got a 29MB demo of this (and I do mean demo, no quotes, no nudges or winks) which works under DevHook running 2.71.  Anyone who cares, feel free to send me a PM.  It RARs down to 18 MB.

The first thing that struck me about the game is how small the scale is.  I want better eyes or a bigger screen.  I haven't spent much time on it yet, so I can't say much more than it controls reasonably well, considering the system, and that the tutorial mode is annoying (but probably necessary).  I don't get immediate warm & fuzzies from the game.
