Title: So now really need a DS flashcard thingy: Colors
Post by: idolminds on Friday, July 27, 2007, 12:08:04 AM
App (http://www.collectingsmiles.com/colors/)
Gallery (http://colors.brombra.net/?page=1)

Its a painting app for the DS. A painting app that doesnt suck. Its like those expensive tablets you can draw on...but its your DS.

Impressive.  There's some decent stuff there.  I don't know about practicality, but it'd sure as hell be tons of fun.

Haha, awesome.  Man, it really makes me miss drawing.  I just haven't done it in so long, but there was a time when it seemed like I just couldn't put my pen down.

That's pretty neat.

I always wished that I could draw. Every time I see a cool drawing, or one of Que's or whatever, I enjoy it but at the same time I am jealous. You bastards and your utilization of the other side of the brain!

When that's the only side you've got, you learn to do what you can.

Something interesting came to my attention. I'm listening to a podcast called RadioNinty and this particular episode they interview the guy that developed Colors. Well it turns out hes the lead designer at Starbreeze (Chronicles of Riddick, The Darkness), Jens Anderson! Crazy.

Also I came across another DS art program and this one is from the guy that made Rotoshop, the program used to make A Scanner Darkly and other stuff. Theres a video of it here (http://popsci.typepad.com/popsci/2007/03/the_nintendo_ds.html). It looks fantastic, practically Photoshop DS. I guess hes been talking to Nintendo about possibly releasing it as a retail product but if that falls through he'll just release it into homebrew land.
