Title: I can't eat spaghetti without...
Post by: ScaryTooth on Monday, September 25, 2006, 06:12:16 PM
A glass of cold milk, and some bread, butter, and jelly/jam. Same goes for all those types of food, lasagna, Johnny Marzetti, Ravioli. It just goes together so well.

Funny.  I can't eat it without a good, cold glass of beer or good glass of red wine.  Have a lovely bottle of Ravenswood merlot here tonight, and think I'm going to pop it whilst I enjoy a little more Okami.

I don't understand how some people can eat spaghetti without sauce. Just the idea of it brings a bad taste to my mouth.

I've never been much of a sauce fan.  I couldn't stand to eat it at all until I was probably 18.  Now I'll really only do it to be polite.

Hmm, I eat pasta almost daily. Greatest value for your penny! I love cooking, and pasta is awesome for experimenting and deriving new recipes.

I don't like a lot of a sauce either. but I like a decent amount. I think it's just tomato'y type foods that I like milk with. Hell, Milk is even awesome with pizza. Not sure what it is.

mmm  i used to eat plain pasta noodles when i was a kid.. or with a little soy sauce and cheese.

i haven't had cold milk in ages.. and tonight, i saw some in the fridge and had some... mmm forgotten how good cold fresh milk is.

pizza isn't the same if i don't take it with a milkshake.

pasta is one of the best things ever.

most of the time I need to have chili with pizza.

Chili with pizza?  That's an interesting combo.

But yes, milk is awesome.  It goes with anything.  My dad and I used to literally drink a gallon a day between us.  I've managed to cut it down a little, so now Julia and I go through about a gallen every 3 or 4 days.

If you don't like tomato sauce, try alfredo or vodka sauce.  Vodka sauce is my personal favorite.  Tomato sauce is ok, but I'll only eat it if there's nothing else around.  I assume you non-saucers use butter?  That's the only way it's good without sauce.

Butter, a little steak seasoning sprinkled across the top is surprisingly good as well.

I like Alfredo Sauce quite a bit, although it is really too rich to eat all that often.  I've never tried vodka sauce, I'll have to check that out.

Yeah, alfredo is very thick.  Vodka sauce is like creamy tomato sauce, but with vodka.  It's awesome.

If I have no-sauce.  I usually put some butter, parmesan cheese, bacos.

Another alternative I have is, pesto pasta! hah... or cheese, butter, olives, chives, a little tabasco, lemon and honey.

Sphagetti/Pasta etc is just too good. I don't freaking know how I stop.

Hmm, now that I think about it I can have apsta without anythign else.. Maybe just a little salt. I mean it's not my ideal way to have pasta, but I have done it before.

If there's no sauce around I'll eat spaghetti with ketchup. It's not bad.

That's just wrong, although I'm one of those people who feel like katchup on anything other than burgers and fries is just wrong.

I don't mind it. With some spices and parmesan cheese it even approaches good-tasting.
But I wouldn't recommend eating it with an Italian person in the room. She got deeply offended.

I just had some spaghetti. But i was in no mood for it.  I wanted a nice salad with garlic bread though.. didn't have ingredients or time to cook anything.

I had too much pasta, now i have a sugar headache.

Sugar headache? From spaghetti?

I get sugar head-rushes from hyperactivity resulting from a sugar-binge. I can feel my head pulsating. I don't mind it though, reminds me I'm very much alive :P

Yup... I've done that in my poor living alone starving student days.

fried spaghetti noodles.

haha

yeah i get sugar headaches really easily.  Especially if I haven't had much sleep.  I don't really eat much candy because i get too hyper.

Too much pasta makes one fat too.

Not whole wheat pasta.  That shit's great for you, and it usually tastes good too.  Ronzoni sucks, Davinci is tasty though.

Yeha I recently switched to whole-wheat pasta too. I as surprised that it was good, even plain. It's not starchy like regular pasta :P I'll usually just have it with nos auce, just with veggies and some spices.

hehe didn't think you guys would be into whole wheat and all that stuff.

That's all we used to have at home.. it's scratchy at times.

I used to hate the whole wheat stuff.. But when I tried it again (I'm adventurous that way), it reminded me of when I was a kid in Germany.. That was all they had! Brown bread, whole wheat everything! And for some reason I love it now.. Maybe that's the sign that I'm getting old?

probably :D

i can't stand white bread now.. unless it's garlic bread with fresh garlic and lots of butter

what I don't really appreciate much is whole wheat lasagna

Hmm, I've never had whole wheat lasagne.. I'll have to give that a shot.

I think my favourite spaghetti would have to be the classic spaghetti bolognese.
