Yeah, we all know how much I loath the service, but... well, Overwritten.net has a presence there now anyway. Because some games require Steam. Like fucking bitches. So come on over (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/OverwrittenDotNet) and check us out. Let me or idol know you want in, and you'll get an invite.
-
"MysterD" could use an invite!
-
Sweet! "Xessive" wants in ;)
-
For some reason you aren't coming up in a search. Search and add me and I'll send you invites and stuff.
-
"Search and add me"? Yeah, I'd hate to miss out, even if I don't otherwise do Steam. I'd like in, please.
-
I mean search for me within Steam and add me as a friend so that I can see you. "Xessive" doesn't come up!
And Cobra, I thought you didn't use Steam like... at all? This is basically just a Steam group for actual users. It lets you see who in the group is online and what they're playing, gives you a chat room, etc. It's a bunch of shit we'll probably never, ever end up using, but since Idol and I were there and trying to play The Ship, I figured we may as well.
So... yeah. In case there was confusion, this is just for people actively using Steam, within the program itself (it just happens to have a page you can look at). Because Xessive and Cobra951 don't show up in Steam. :-[

It's really weird coz I have the same problem with some of my friends, they can never see me on Steam but I can add them. I'll add you as soon as I get home.
The Steam Friends messenger is practically useless so far, hopefully having our group up together will give it some purpose.

Heh. Idol and I had nothing but trouble with it today, too. Everyone said how much better it was since HL2, but that's a bunch of crap. The thing has more bells and whistles, but it still does a bunch of dumb stuff and just randomly decides that it doesn't want to work properly. Ugh. I don't know how anybody can get behind this fucking thing.
-
Yea, add me, too. I added y'all already. "hoobstab"
-
Surprise, surprise. Steam can't find you.
Also, who the hell is frogstomper12 and why are they my friend?
-
That's probably Hoob.
Add me as well plz.

Pug's been invited. Scott can't be found.

I haven't been on Steam in months and months, and I won't be until the Orange Box is released.

Honestly though last night was more of a fluke. I usually don't have as much trouble as that. It was probably due to TF2 releasing and Steam updating itself. In fact...thats what it was for my horrible ping, since I let Steam run overnight this morning I got the window again to restart because it updated. Seems the first restart didnt do anything the first time so it downloaded again.
Though its still complete bullshit that it wouldn't pause the download when I attempted to play online. It does it for other downloads (like updating games). And heres an idea, pop up a window and inform me that theres an update and give me the option of downloading now or later. No...secret download happening for an unknown reason and an unknown filesize. Awesome.

I have never managed to get that thing to work. It never saves the friends I add. In the end, we just coordinate our games through MSN or vent or something like that. At least that's what we did back in the day. I don't use Steam anymore.
-
BTW, its easier to add people if you link to your Steam community page, like this (http://steamcommunity.com/id/idolminds).
-
If everybody wants to re-post links to their profiles that way, we'll see if we cant get some more inviting happening.
-
So, looks like Steam is turning into MySpace and Facebook, w/ this new "community" addition and all....
-
A social community that doesn't allow you to find your friends. Useful! Good thing I'm antisocial.

Yes, but my page just says "Private" if I try to view it when I'm not logged in. I don't know how to make it public.
Here (http://steamcommunity.com/id/xessive) it is anyway.

Could someone send an invite to me at the name Fleshfeast? I think that's the right name. My login is W7RE but my display name is Fleshfeast, since that's how I'm known pretty much everywhere but here.
I sent a steam message to gpw, but he was afk and I have no idea how steam handles person to person chat and if he got it or not.

I just added you to my friend list. Once that goes through I can invite you to the OW group.
-
Yeah, sorry...I just saw your message like 5 min. ago.
-
NP, I got it. Thanks guys.
