Title: Public service announcement: Don't miss Chibi-Robo Park Patrol (DS)
Post by: idolminds on Wednesday, October 03, 2007, 01:08:37 PM
This game is probably going to be lost in the shuffle. Releasing the same day as Zelda, plus its Wal-Mart exclusive which doesn't really scream "quality game", does it?

IGN review (http://ds.ign.com/articles/824/824571p1.html)

The game has its flaws, but its so charming and addictive you can't help buy keep playing it. Growing flowers, selling flowers, improving the park, keeping the smogglings at bay...all in a days work for a 4 inch tall robot.

I've put a few hours into this game and I like it so far. It reminds me of Mario and Harvest Moon, but with simplified gameplay.

As long as I can get it somewhere other than Wal-Mart, I might try it sometime.  I've been away from the DS for a long time.  Phantom Hourglass brought it back, and I wonder what else I've missed.

What wrong with Wal-Mart? Did you see that documentary about how Wal-Mart is evil?

Just watch the gamestops and such. I'm sure you'll find used copies eventually. Or...get it from Canada (no walmart exclusivity).

I didn't need to wait for it.  I already knew their despicable business practices beforehand.  They are emblematic of the so-called globalization, which in practice means wealth gets sucked into the hands of the corporate elite, while good jobs in this country disappear and are replaced with minimum-wage drudgery.  The overseas sweatshop labor to produce their cheap goods is only a part of the travesty.
