Title: I'm a sad, sad robot
Post by: Cobra951 on Tuesday, October 09, 2007, 01:54:25 PM
I'm a sad, sad robot (http://download.mkorbit.de/01_sad_robot.mp3), all alone.   :(

A conversation last night with idol and que brought jamendo (http://www.jamendo.com) to my attention.  What a neat concept.  Music that can be acquired freely and legally, protected by Creative Commons licenses.  I'm wading through it right now.  The bittorrent downloads are hit and miss, though.  It doesn't surprise me that unpopular stuff isn't getting seeded.  Still, it's a great place to get exposed and discover new music.  The streaming is full-quality, and without a hitch so far.  Since it's free to download, chances are whatever you want is somewhere else anyway, like an artist's official site.

Edit: Revolution Void - Increase the Dosage (http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/2225/) is freaking excellent.  ("Electronic breakbeat jazz" is what they call the genre.)  The bittorrent is quite healthy too, if you like it as well as I do.

Nice find!  I actually really dig the couple of Revolution Void tracks I listened to.  I think I'll grab the whole thing and listen to it more fully at work.  I can dig it.  Thanks for sharing!
