State of Emergency in Pakistan.
I don't know what this means, but it could mean no internet, no cellphones, no banking etc.
This is horrible. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

The world is fucked. I'm sorry you're so close to one cause. Let us know how you're doing if you can.

Damn. That sucks. I guess we really take for granted living in a nation with a stable government who at least tries most of the time to live by the rules they impose on themselves.
As bad as the United States' corruption is, I would be shocked if they ever suspended the Constitution.
Anyway, stay safe. Hopefully whatever happens results in little change in your safety (unless in a positive manner) and daily routine.

Yeah, like if they illegally wiretapped people and tortured people and lied about war and so on and so forth. That would SUCK. ;)
Sorry to hear about your situation, Pug. Stay safe buddy.

Heh, good point.
-
Well apparently the only thing this effects is the supreme court. Otherwise life should continue as normal.
-
Sure hope so, man. You need to get the hell out of there.
-
Where can I go. I can't leave my business. One thing is for sure... on Monday I am going to get my passport renewed.
-
I'm sure there are going to be a lot of people doing the same thing come Monday.
I'm starting to think a lot of these countries like instability.

Also CIA kidnappings (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extraordinary_rendition). "National Security Letters." The FBI doing "improper" (read: blatantly illegal) things. Travel bans. Extrajudicial punishments. Government watch lists full of non-criminals.
Stuff like that. THAT would suck.
EDIT: Still beats Pakistan, apparently.
America - a nicer place to live than Pakistan.
-
Well, those things would fall under the "and so forth" comment.
Also, this move by Musharraf also means that aid received from America is in jeopardy of being revoked. Granted, most of this goes to the military. But still, it's $11 billion. That's a lot of cash money.

be ready to move Pugnate. Have a place you can fly to. Whoever's got military connections during martial law is on the better side of the deal. Especially once they start to ration... At the height of martial law, our family didn't feel it and had fun because of my grandfather's position. But yeah, travel while you can and get out of there. Once it gets tighter, you can't even travel unless you have a special visa - usually special diplomatic type.
