Title: Split screen gaming on the PC.

Why the heck isn't that option available to PC gamers? We all have gamepads, so why not?  >:(

Even without gamepads. Remember the old PC games where each player takes one side of the keyboard? Or even one player on keyboard and other player on gamepad.

The one thing that bugs me is how quite often PC versions of games always lack the Co-op mode.

I just can't imagine playing split screen on a 19 incher.  I've been far too spoiled by playing on big screens that having to scrunch in and play on a monitor is just not enough.

But why not give us the option, like they did in the past.

That's the thing with a lot of these developers having an assholic attitude towards LAN play and removing it. If they can't allow LAN, then how come that very game allows four people to play the same title on the console?

edit:

Right Xessive... I remember playing all sorts of games on splitscreen in the mid to late 90s.

I think this one we can blame on marketing schemes. They probably think of it terms of trying to convince us to buy 1) more copies for the PC version or 2) just go for the the console version (and the console it's on if we don't already have it).

I see what you are saying, but I think the number of people that would use their PC as a multiplayer system is very small.
