Title: Ratatouille (2007)
Post by: Pugnate on Saturday, November 10, 2007, 10:25:54 AM
Wow, I really liked it. It was very heartfelt, and the most fun I had watching an animation since The Incredibles. Pixar is very talented, some of the visuals were gorgeous.

This was a surprise for me.  I went to see it at the theater with my little daughter.  I admire Pixar a great deal.  I love their work since they started out 20 years ago.  Even so, the depth of the movie given the subject matter was unexpected.  They make it look so natural and easy that you forget the wonder behind what makes the art coming to life possible.

Exactly. I don't know if I am in some sort of a mood, but the movie moved me a little.

This movie didn't really get me like all the other pixar ones. It's been a while since I saw it but it just felt like it was lacking in something. I want to say heart but everybody else is saying that was its strongest point.

well, ren, i think it was heart.  Lacked some spices and depth in a way.. imo.. but other than that, it's strengthened my love for cartoons.

The only thing that made me cringe was watching rats cook. It just made me cringe every time.

I just finished watching this... I liked it.  Not as deep as Incredibles or Monster's Inc. but it was still highly enjoyable.  Definitely worth watching though, but I agree with pug's comment.  Watching rats cook a meal was a little unsettling.

Rats are extremely clean animals, Pug.

And iP, isn't comparing the "depth" of Monsters Inc. to Ratatouille sort of like comparing the depth of a puddle to a glass of water... while standing next to the ocean?
