I never really liked his portrayal of The Joker anyway. I mean it wasn't bad, but it wasn't The Joker. Besides, then I saw him in ten other movies and it was like he was playing The Joker in those as well haha. He does the same schtick in every movie, which is probably why he loves Tim Burton so much.
At the bottom of that article are some comments worth reading.
But I don't think he even knows that The Dark Knight is a sequel to Batman Begins.
I think he still thinks the franchise is still in the hands of Schumaker or something.
Anyway from what I've read, it seems like Heath Ledger might do The Joker's character justice. He is aiming for a true psycho.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the new Joker. I have high hopes.
Personally, while I love Burton and I think Jack is a cool enough guy, I hated every fucking Batman movie ever made until Batman Begins, and that movie is the sole reason that I'm looking forward to the next one. I thought the rest of them were just bloody awful.

Oh they were.... especially that one with Arnie as Mr.Freeze.
I liked Burton's vision of Catwoman. I recently watched Batman Returns again... Catwoman was awesome heh.
As for Jack, he just comes off as arrogant in a lot of things. Maybe I get the wrong impression.
Another actor who comes off as an ass in interviews? Wesley Snipes.

I'm sure the guy *is* an ass. I mean, he's kind of a strange guy. Still, I respect his acting abilities and there are few movies I've seen him in where I thought he was a really weak link. I hate basically all celebrities, so to hear that one mouthed off like a stupid fuckwit doesn't surprise me in the least.

I can confirm that Wesley Snipes is indeed an asshole in person.

Haha He's Jack Nicholson! I still believe that Wolverine (the original Marvel Comics character) was based on Jack Nicholson!
A friend of mine was trapped in an elevator with Stephen Dorff in Toronto, and apparently he's a total dick too. Everyone else in the elevator was calm and atiently waiting to be released while he was yelling, cussing, just being a bitch. My friend used to think he was "hot" and now she finds him repulsive :P
I'm claustrophobic (or at least I used to be, I've a lot more control now), and being trapped in an elevator is no excuse to toss your manners out!

Michelle Pfeiffer can hurt me anytime. :)
I don't know about Jack. He seems like an OK guy to me. I think anyone who is revered to that extent and gets ultra-rich because of it is going to accumulate some conceit. If he thinks he's the cat's meow, he's agreeing with everyone else.

I honestly don't think he's serious, come on, the dude is way too fucking old now to play the joker. From what I seen of him in interviews he has a very dry sarcastic humor to him.

About Heath Ledger playing The Joker, I think he might be one of the better choices to actually be able to pull it off. He definitely is talented enough to play such a role, I think.
About Jack Nicholson in the first Batman movie as The Joker -- loved it. I thought he was great in that role and one of the best villains in the Batman movies, so far.
About Nicholson not happy being in Joker in the next Batman movie, he's probably unhappy he ain't getting a big paycheck in a big mainstream film. :P So, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how Ledger's performance in The Dark Knight pans out to see if Jack's right or not.
I do think Nicholson's a great actor and respect his skills -- see The Departed, Batman, The Pledge, and About Schmidt, just to name a few -- but that's as far as that goes. I think he's just running his mouth there.

I think Batman Begins was the best Batman movie since the first one from Burton.

Agreed but I liked Returns too. I felt it was much the same as the first but just more of it... like a 2nd helping at xmass :P
I can only think Jack is having a laugh with this as the only time a star says "I should have been included" is when their career is over and the remake is seen as their way back in (in my mind at least).

I don't think ol Jack can kick the coke habit long enough to film another Batman flick.
