Interesting (http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=16535)
FASA, WizKids and 42 Entertainment founder Jordan Weisman has announced, via the website of his newest venture-backed startup Smith & Tinker, that he has licensed the 'electronic entertainment' rights to his MechWarrior, Shadowrun and Crimson Skies properties back from Microsoft.
The recently founded Smith & Tinker, named after two minor characters from the Land Of Oz books, describe themselves as "...a venture-backed company that builds intellectual property across a wide spectrum of interactive products, weaving games, toys and publishing into immersive transmedia experiences."

Interesting.
So, will there be a MW5, MW5: Mercs Edition, and Shadowrun 2?

If that little company tagline is anything to go by, this sounds like this goes well beyond just video games.
This is good. It brings Mechwarrior closer to it's Battletech roots and heck, even back to the guys who made it in the first place. I'm just glad to see all the elements back together,

Indeed. Better there than elsewhere, really.

Wizkids has done some awesome stuff with certain franchises, such as Heroclix and the Star Wars Pocketmodel game which I am playing a lot of right now. I would love to see some new MechWarrior tabletop game come out.

Pirates of the Spanish Main. Word.

That's what is awesome. Plus Crimson Skies was really cool.

Sweet! That's good news!
