Title: Don't think I'm going to bed anytime soon.
Post by: PyroMenace on Tuesday, December 11, 2007, 05:46:51 AM
Its quarter till 7 am and I'm wired.

Probably wasn't the best idea to eat peanut butter M&Ms and 3 pepsis after getting off work.  :-\

I played Deus Ex until 1:45am and had to wake up for work at 5:30am.  Yeah, I'm pretty tired.

hahaha... I don't know why, but Scottws' post made me chuckle.

I am going to reinstall Deus Ex, or force my sister to play it. You know, when I watch a kick ass movie that I've seen before, with people who've never seen it... it is fun.

I have an exam in 2 hours for environmental ethics. What a terrible mistake to take this course.

Two nights ago I stayed up until 2:30 playing Aquaria.  I get up at 6 for work.  Also, Pyro is going to have diabetes in like 10 minutes.

Isn't diabetes that disease where you live off candy and crap out rainbows? Because I want that.

Caffeine?  For me, it works for about ten minutes and then I'm dragging.

If you get jittery, and your butt's still dragging, you know you asked more from caffeine than it can possibly give.

I stayed up till 5 AM playing Metroid Prime 3.  I may not have a job  to get up for, but this doesn't help my struggle to get back in sync with humanity.  Christmas is 2 weeks off, and I'll be up at 6 AM then come hell or high water.

Go to CVS (or any pharmacy/supplement/health store) and buy a bottle of Melatonin.   (3mg works best)

Melatonin is the chemical your brain produces that tells you when you're tired.  Take the Melatonin supplement 30 minutes before when you want to sleep for 2 or 3 days.  Non habit-forming because it's technically a supplement, not a "drug," but it works wonders and wont make you as groggy as diphenhydramine (benadryl) or similar antihistamines.  That will reset your sleep cycle to whenever you want.  If you travel, it's perfect for jetlag.

So this is apparently precisely why your phone is turned off, and I can't contact you to go eat Chinreze with me right now.

I love M&Ms.. Even if they're too sweet, I have good memories with M&Ms.

I fell asleep okay but I had a horrible dream and got a call at midnight and I thought it was 4 am already.

You don't know how to eat Pepsi? Heh. I thought that everyone knew how to do that.

I haven't slept at all tonight, it's almost dawn (meaning I won't sleep at all tonight), and I have to be somewhere in two and a half hours.

HATE EVERYTHING.

I read up on that.  The jury seems to be out on it.  One article said it's banned in Canada, due to lack of any real research done on it.  It seems like it should work, since the synthetic stuff is supposed to be exactly what the pineal gland produces.  My fear is that production of melatonin by this gland would be reduced if I start taking supplements.  That's fairly typical--if you replace what the body does with something external, the body gets lazy.  "Use it or lose it."  Then again, production of this stuff is lower at my age than at yours, so it may be a good idea anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion.
