Well, other than buying one. (http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/07/alienware-curved-display-rocks-crysis-at-2880-x-900/)
-
Jesus tap dancing christ, that is nice, probably costs an arm and a leg though.
-
I saw that last night and kept wondering what the hell would power Crysis to run on that. Then I started thinking on the price, which would be easier to speculate on if we knew the size.
-
DLP? Fuuuuuuuck that.
As for what they used to get Crysis running at the resolution, that's an interesting question.
The absolute most powerful thing I think they could have run it on would be a triple SLI 8800 Ultra. So I think we can assume that it didn't run it well at all (http://firingsquad.com/hardware/nvidia_3-way_sli_performance/page4.asp)
-
Tell you what it means then. Nvidia used some unreleased card to run it... I hope.
-
Yes. And they had a graph with exploding green shit at the top of a grey box to show you just how powerful it was.
-
In fact, I do not want one of those.
I have no idea where I would even put it.
-
Would be sweet. I hope it adds support for my peripheral vision!

It's funny because one of the articles I read said it has "an amazingly small footprint", and then there's a picture of it taking up an entire desk.
-
"footprint" probably only refers to the part of the monitor that actually touches the desk.
but holy crap that thing is awesome.
-
I figured that at the time (which is still stupid considering that the area directly under the monitor is still all dead space), but the stand is still massive. It looks at least 2/3rds the length of the screen.
I don't know, if it was LCD it'd be a lot cooler.
