Tommy can you hear me? Good, because SouthPeak Games announces plans for Dream Pinball 3D, headed to the PC, Wii, and DS this spring. There are some screenshots on FileFront, and here's the announcement:

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS – January 9, 2008 – SouthPeak Games today announced Dream Pinball 3D is coming to PC, Wii™ and the Nintendo DS™ in Spring 2008. Developed by veteran studio Topware, this superb pinball simulator creates an authentic pinball experience with refined controls that capitalize on the unique qualities each platform.

“Everyone loves pinball. It is an unusual kind of entertainment in that it bridges hardcore and casual gamers, while translating very well to videogames,” said Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak Games. “We are going to give the medium the respect it deserves.”

Dream Pinball 3D boasts six table themes, several different ball options, multi-ball power-ups and the most intense visuals and ball physics a pinball game has ever seen. The Wii™ version utilizes the Wii Remote™ and motion sensor capability to enhance gameplay. The Nintendo DS™ version includes intuitive touch screen control options and clear 3D graphics. The PC version offers pristine visuals and precise flipper controls with the mouse. With this many options to choose from, Dream Pinball 3D will bring out the pinball wizard in everyone!

Yeah, so can you guys think of some great pinball games on the PC in the past few years or so...?

Seriously, the day that I buy a pinball game is the day that I need to stop taking so many drugs.

Unless it's a super kick ass pinball game with naked chicks in the background and little kittens killing things. I would definitely buy that game.

Thanks, Idol. That's hella cool.
Especially that it's an Pinball Editor/Builder and everything.

I just tried The Sci-Fi Classic Pinball Board.
Cool stuff.

EDIT:
Idol, any particular pinball games you like that someone made off this engine that you think are worth the download?

Personally I only played one or two tables. Seemed cool enough but nothing I felt like playing a lot off. Pinball isnt really my bag (except real life pinball is cool)

Epic Pinball and Silverball (by Digital Extremes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epic_Pinball)) are still the best pinball games ever made.  Extreme Pinball wasn't bad either, but in my eyes, all other pinball games are pretenders to the throne.

Pinball games suck because the game is so dependent on the tactical sensation that goes along with it.

I think you mean tactile, and I can't say I agree.  I played far more Epic Pinball than I ever did the real thing.

Yes, that should totally be tactile, but we're going to leave it because it's funnier that way.
