Post by: MysterD on Sunday, January 20, 2008, 06:45:39 AM
EDIT on 2-10-2008:

Just saw the flyer online for this week (week of 2/10) at CC.com. (http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/home.do)
CC is doing it again for this week of 2-10-2008, guys.
50% off all PC games $20 and less.

ORIGINAL OLD POST from 1/20:

Just saw the flyer online for this week (week of 1/20) at CC.com. (http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/home.do)

Figure some of y'all might wanna check out your local CC and stock up on some cheap ones.

ALL PC games that are $19.99 and below at your local CC store...
Take 50% OFF that price.

EDIT from 1/20:
I just came back from my (somewhat) local CC store (in Braintree, MA).

None of the games rang up at half-price, even though in their PC games section was a BIG SIGN saying All PC Games $20 or less are 50% off AND their flyer says the same exact thing.

So, the cashier told me to go to Customer Service -- and they looked at the flyer and slapped all the rang-up prices in half.

Here's what I got, after the 50% discount:

1. Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened -- $9.98
2. Fate -- $9.98
3. Sim City 4: Deluxe Edition -- $9.98
4. The Movies: Stunts & Effects Expansion -- $9.98
5. Galac Civ: Ultimate Edition -- $2.49
6. The Ship -- $2.34
(The box actually read $19.99 for The Ship, but it rang up cheaper than that, then got cut in half).

According to the box, Fate (boxed edition) has extra content, too. :)

I just playing The Ship --- yes, it's pretty quirky and pretty cool. :)

It's times like this that I hate living in a small town. No Circuit City here. :(

I think Overlord is a conspicuously good buy.  I love that game.  I could see paying $8.50 for Call of Jericho as well.  Never full price.

I don't know if Cobra meant Call of Jaurez or Clive Barker's Jericho, but I'll vouch for the latter.  I felt it was worth full price, personally, and paid it happily before playing through the thing twice.  Not the most amazing game ever, but still a good standard FPS with some cool twists that's fun, looks and sounds great, and had some very neat moments.  And yes, Overlord was a steal at that price as well.

I don't often see a reason for buying a game full price, even....hehe! :P

I think Overload on the PC comes w/ either FADE or SF for protection, which the manual both mentions -- doesn't matter, 'cause if it does, there's ways around SF crap-tastic protection.

I really can't wait to try Jericho. Gotta' make some HD space, for that one.

Also from what I read on CAG during the week, a few of Best Buys were nice enuff to have matched the 50% on ALL games $19.99 this week. I'm sure that not all of them will do that, of course...

I'd ask customer service at BB, if I was you...before you start pulling some games off the rack from them. :P

Not all have and will, of course...
