Isn't the term "Fox News" an oxymoron?
I hate that network. They are a complete tabloid, and an embarrassment to news sources everywhere.
Anyway I think you guys should take a couple of minutes to write to Fox News to let them know how this bullshit reporting is denting their already infamous reputation.

The amount of ignorance displayed by the people in that video is staggering. It's a shame that the guy who knew what he was talking about was pretty much cut off the air, in favor of the misinformed people.
-
Wow that was pretty horrible. It definitely seems Fox News is in the business of sensationalism rather than news reporting. I love the letter from the EA guy. He is bang-on on everything he says. Bringing up The OC and especially the question "Do you honestly believe that young people have more exposure to Mass Effect than to those prime time shows?" was awesome.
I love how the one lady says "Who's playing videogames? Adolescent males; not their dads." The "videogame generation" is growing up, and let's face the facts here... a lot of us are now dads and guess what? Yep, we still play videogames. Maybe we don't have as much time to play them as we used to, but that's irrelevant. College males are absolutely huge gamers too, and last I checked, they are adults, not adolescents.
I also love how the anchor tries to bring up the age screening process on the website as some sort of slight against Mass Effect. What does she expect? Having to provide a valid credit card or something? What does that have to do with the game itself, especially when there are thousands of other sites on the Internet that aren't even game related that have the same sort of age verification process or even no verification at all!

It isn't like teens don't watch R-rated flicks.

She is the author who bashed the game, and video game fans struck back on Amazon. Call it immature or whatever, but some of those are gold.

hahahah... gotta love the internet.

That video killed parts of my brain, I couldn't even finish watching the panel part of it at the end and the fact that they cut off that guy who was the most informed out of the bunch just shows how fucking stupid that channel is. It's infuriating that people who are so misinformed about a subject get to talk about it like they are experts and sadly a good percentage of the American public believes them and that's why there will always be news outlets like this.

Yeah, I posted one of them. Earlier there were very few, now there are a lot.

So, who's next for Fox News to Attack to get slapped back right at??

Haha. I really hope that her book sales go down because of this. Out of 443 reviews, 386 are one-star and 42 are two-star. That's good stuff.

The nerds always win. Lol at Amazon stuff.
As per the original topic, the bitch has no idea what she is talking about.
-
love it. may be puerile and stupid, but fuck it. if "experts" want to slather their names over shit like this, let them, hopefully the little reprisals like this will let them know the consequences.

Frankly, I think Fox News is just as bad as the rest of them, but that's because I think all news outlets are filled with idiots who spout this kind of garbage from their nether regions regularly.
In any case... I think the whole thing is awesome. Well, the backlash. The Amazon.com thing is hilarious (I'm going to come back and read half of those later, just the ones I got to were awesome), and the EA letter was spot on. Good stuff.

Fox News gets the brunt of the attack mostly because of its bias, but I do agree that all of the 24/7 outlets are filled with sensational bullshit. But, politics nowadays is filled with sensational bullshit, so maybe they are indeed covering the news. :)

We will talk about that once we are done talking about this. :) :P

You have to realize how big an incident this is when fans actually side with a company like EA haha. :P

Heh, that's what I was thinking. I hate the bastards, but foul play is foul play regardless of the target, and this hurts gaming as a whole, too. But either way, what the guy said in his letter was just right. He wasn't demanding anything outrageous, he was just pointing out their inaccuracies and asking them nicely to address those inaccuracies.

Oh, you knew this was coming....

Well, not bad. It was an admission of guilt, and a total reversal of ground at that. Whether or not it was because of the backlash is hard to say, but either way, it's a good thing.

Adam Sessler lets them have it. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBTh1xy5XAI)

His closing comments were priceless!

Nice response from Adam.

Nicely done. I really don't know anything about the guy, but that makes me like him.
-
He looks like someone from the Adam's family.

Who in the world is Adam Sessler?
