I think the only character with a long, red trench coat who could pull it off is Vash The Stampede.
I still don't see all that much of a similarity between the two. I'm also still of the opinion of the PoP action sequences being extremely weak compared to DMC or NG.Haha I forced GPW to go to Google! Mission accomplished! Hehe
You just made me go to google, and I'm still clueless.
There's an anime? Jeez. That must be incredibly awful. I pretty much hate all the lame character shit too, but the gameplay is fun enough that I just ignore it. Plus it seemed worse in 3 than in the original. It was present there too, but in a way where you couldn't tell as much if they were trying to be serious or not (which was almost worse.... at least later on it became plainly apparent that no, they weren't being serious).Haha yeah I'm referring to the most recent PoP The Two Thrones, which was apparently the one most criticized. The combat in the first game was just as you said: fluid but repetitive, once you figure the formula it's the same shit over and over, fortunately the rest of the game made up for that.
And I hope to God you mean PoP3 and not the others, Xessive, otherwise you have no taste in combat at all. No offense. The combat in the first game sucked like crazy. I mean, it was fine in that it worked and was fluid, there was just absolutely nothing to it and it was repetitive as hell. Also, it required almost no skill. From the little I've played of the next one, it's better, but not that much better. The third is supposedly the best of the bunch, but I haven't tried it yet.
Thank you for once again confirming my pre-existing judgment that anime and manga are both really really queer.

Hahaha any time :P It depends on the show, really. Have you watched Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann?
Oh, also: naked lesbian ghosts.
Now you have my interest. :PSee? Its not just me!
That makes it sound more palatable. I still worry that it needs young reflexes.
One question: am I just an idiot or is the whole 'sword rev' thing kind of weird? You know, when you hit that button to make the sword stronger. Is it just a matter of getting the timing down so you can do it right after you attack during battles, because it builds up too slow otherwise.
Yeah, to be perfectly honest it seems like there are a lot of moves and techs you don't really need. For instance, Nero's "Tabletop" move (sidestep thing) seems like it would be really usefull and there are like three levels for it, but I couldn't get the timing down really and the side roll works just fine. Thank god you can refund points you spent on upgrading skills, but this is probably why I can't get anywhere near beating the secret level which requires you to raise your style meter without attacking (I can't even get the style meter to start).
Yeah, I laughed when I got to that part and remembered Que saying that the truth is actually a whole lot weirder. Good times. I've had the game crash on my twice during cut scenes though, which wouldn't be all that big of a deal, except on both occasions it was at the cut scene at the end of a tedious level.I've had the same thing happen to me. It crashed 2 or 3 times on me and only during cutscenes. I'm not sure what's causing it but I tried different video settings; setting the native resolution and switching off VSYNC seems to help, no crashes yet.
Sersiously, why do big sites like Gamespot wait 2-3 weeks to review PC ports of games? It happens quite a bit and it seems kind of strange. Obviously it's not the biggest deal - if you want a generalized review of the game, go read one from one of the other versions, but chances are people have already done that and are looking for insight on technical issues. If it was Christmas or something it'd be understandable, but between the release of the game and the posting of the review there was about 2 weeks without any reviews on Gamespot PC. What gives? They've been doing that more often lately. It might just be that the current reviewers are just swamped, what with a lot of people jumping ship recently.

What gives?I think it'd be easiest to do all the multi-platform reviews for one game at the same time, myself -- like what was more common in the older days for multi-platformed PC and console games. That way, they wouldn't have to a separate PC and console reviews.

The thing is that the game hit consoles at least 6 months before the PC.
