While I am still young enough to enjoy the devastation and eventual dramatic unity of mankind? Humans are getting predictably boring here.
Also when the aliens attack, we may finally have a positive use for these suicide bombers.
"Oh no, we were mistaking. You actually did have the correct interpretation. Islam does encourage you to blow yourself up. Now see those green men? Go make some goo."
And have you considered this? When the aliens attack, we won't have to go to work! All debt will be forgotten! Women will be desperate... goats as well...
And we might have a chance against the aliens with South Koreans on our side. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4137782.stm)

Personally I'd rather zombies attack. I feel like I'm pretty well eqiped to handle the carnage, although I'd probably have to swing by work to pick up some heavier armanents as well as the ideal vehicle for the situation. Aliens would probably be too badass for most people to hande in a one on one situation, and if you use hollywood as a guide, all the good action would probably be out of the hands of us normal citizens.
Edit: not to derail the conversation, but I'm puzzled by the fact that that guy died after playing Starcraft, and the whole second part of the articles was about the dangers of MMORPGs.
Edit 2: That article was from 2005.

Yeah I questioned the validity as well.
As for the whole alien scenario, it probably would be good for mankind because we would unite. But if they have the technology to get here they have the technology to kick our asses. So we would probably all die anyways.

Alien invasion in movies: Aliens come to Earth and fight us ship to ship, human to humanoid. Leading man saves the race with a ragtag group of lovables.
Alien invasion for real, if it ever happens: Aliens put humanity to sleep from outer space, using whatever their way-advanced biochem tools may be, developed specifically for Earth humans. Something that won't affect the rest of the biosphere. Wait out of reach for best effect. Humanity dies off, blaming themselves for their own meddling in biotoxic warfare, never knowing what actually hit them. Aliens clean up as needed, take over planet.

Will Smith then learns of the alien attack, steals an alien spacecraft and plants a virus in the alien mothership, getting out at the last second. Humans clean up as needed, take back planet.
Fixed.

I hope the aliens attack while Will Smith is still alive, or else we are screwed.

Isn't he a Scientologist now? He would probably join the aliens thinking they are being led by Lord Zenu (or whatever his name is).
-
No, he would fight them even harder. Xenu is the enemy.
-
Will Smith too? No way.

I don't think he is, but rather more of a Scientology sympathizer. I believe his wife is and he's friends with Tom Cruise, but I'm pretty sure he's talked about it in interviews at least, mentioned that he's studied the material, but doesn't actually practice (which in this case means convince others to give their money I guess). He could, however, be smart enough to be lying about it. Whether he's lying about it to the public ("yeah, uh, I've looked at it....") or to his wife "Yeah baby, uh, I looked at it. It's not THAT stupid" is up in the air.
