Title: I never even thought about this (SotC related)
Post by: gpw11 on Sunday, March 02, 2008, 09:15:05 PM
Shadow of the Colosuss' control scheme might be a bit deeper than I thought (http://www.destructoid.com/shadow-of-the-colossus-controls-are-an-excercise-in-art-72997.phtml).

This also might be the only good original content I've ever found on destructiod.com.

Frankly, I think the point is quite overstated, but I do think he has a valid point.  I personally loved the game's control scheme and thought many times that I liked how much it reinforced or emphasized an action.  Agro's controls were definitely perfect for me, once I got used to them, and it I think the somewhat unresponsive aspects to him did help separate him and give him his own identity.  Later in the game, it felt like he was really and truly his own character.

Yeah, he's definitely stretching it there (choice?  hitting the button twice?), but I think it's interesting now that he brought it up.
