Rest in peace. (http://www.wired.com/culture/art/news/2008/03/clarke_elegy)  I love his work and imagination.

Read about this last night. I didn't know he was in spending his life in Sri Lanka.

Thanks for that link.  I knew he lived in Sri Lanka, but wow, 50 years.  I had no idea he'd been there that long.

Damn, that sucks.  At least he lived a full life at 90 years old (and he was still writing!)  The world has lost a great writer and thinker.  I just finished Rendezvous with Rama a couple of weeks ago too.  Rest in peace Sir Arthur.

EDIT: Thanks for posting that video link Scary even though I shouldn't have read some of the YouTube comments on it, ugh people are fucking stupid.

There's one despicable troll in particular.  I stopped reading the comments because of him.

Rendezvous with Rama is probably my favorite book of his.

I'm about to crack into Rama II after I finish reading Red Mars, Rendezvous with Rama was a very good book though, I flew through it in two days since I couldn't put it down. So far out of all the books I've read of his so far I've enjoyed the Space Odyssey books the most, that may change though.  After the Rama books I'll probably get started on A Time Odyssey trilogy.  There's a movie being made of Rendezvous with Rama that Morgan Freeman is producing that supposedly coming out this year too, hopefully it turns out ok.

I keep hearing about that sporadically, but so far, no concrete evidence of anything definite.  I do hope it happens, and I hope even more that they do a decent job with it.
