I was going to say Meh when I first saw the post, but thought it would just be too crass.  I will never understand why people continue to willingly support EA when all their games are released in what I would consider a fairly early beta state.

Me either.  Despite my love for PCG, I continue to think those guys should be beaten in the fucking head for praising those games as much as they do.

I dont get people. They complain that the BF games are buggy, they waited forever for BF2 patches, and they will still go out and buy 2142. Some people I guess dont learn from mistakes.

Please be aware of the following:
In an effort to reduce download times the Battlefield 2142 Demo does not contain a DirectX installer. Be advised that in order to play this demo players must have DirectX9 installed and should ensure that the d3dx9_29.dll is present in your C:\WINDOWS\system32.
Well, most new games, you do want the newest DX files installed. Many games even come w/ the newest version of DX with them; some give you the option to install the DX files or not, some force you to install them....

There's more...

We are aware that some players are experiencing disconnects while playing the Demo. Please know we are running checks and making enhancements to our support systems so that these disconnects can be solved as quickly as possible.
Maybe they let this demo out the bag too early -- what do you all think?

There was a beta demo out for a while that could be downloaded if you had like a paid account from Fileplanet or something.  My friend got it and said it was a piece of shit.  I don't disagree.  I've only played BF1942 and I didn't like it.  I dislike EA games.

BF1942 was actually pretty cool at the time it was released.  But it was ugly and buggy.

Typical, that's what I think. You all called it when it was said you expected a buggy game, and yeah this is only the demo but still its not good start.
The demo for the last BF game turned me off the idea of buying it!

Yup, typical of EA. They are probably too stressed for time to even test code their game so they throw out a shitty beta as a demo and are like, "Here, test it for us."
